We love our new road star champion trike, but my wife wants to know how to get on and off. She fell yesterday getting off and injured her elbow. She 5'6" 145#. At 68 she still does yoga and is more flexible than me. She would love to know how the other ladies do it.

This is how my wife 4'11" gets on
She steps on the driver left foot peg and swings her leg over the seat and sits in the driver seat.
then puts her feet on the pass foot boards stands up and sits down in the pass spot. Exit is reverse.

"MOST" of the Lady Passengers I've watched here at TRIKE TALK.com usually swing up onto the Driver Seat, then slide back onto the Passenger Seat. With a knee injury, this is also the way my Wife found was easiest for Her also....ThumbUp

OK, sounds confusing but its not. From the left side, place right foot on drivers footboard (or peg), place left foot on passenger board, raise up then sit down. Now pull right leg across the drivers seat and voila! She has a stiff right leg, do the exact opposite for the other leg. It works, trust me. My better half thought she would never be able to ride and I told her I would not ride without her so we found ths method and we ride a lot!

We ride a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 with a Tow-Pac. I get on first; then the wife puts her left foot on passenger floor board; grabs my shoulders , and swings her right leg/foot over the back-rest and sits down, Then she releases my shoulders and we're off. Dismount is just reverse of that procedure.

My wife does it this way also with no issuses, real easy.ThumbUp

Here is that most excellent video our own John Luciano posted in a thread from 2009.

Gloria gets on this way, then pushes back up to the passenger seat from the front. We have a backrest on our trike, so when Gloria gets on or off this way I take the backrest out of the mounting slot. She can hike herself over the rest with it folded down, but it's easier with it removed.

Scroll down to the post #34 for another step-by-step way of mounting and dismounting for rider and passenger.

Thanks for posting it. I understand a few dealers in the country are using it as a demo.

My wife gets on from the left side. She steps up on the left passenger floorboard and swings her leg through the passenger seat area to the right passenger floorboard and sits.

To dismount she leans forward and grabs the handlebars and stands on the passenger floor boards. Then she swings her right leg through and kneels on the passenger seat, puts her left foot on the ground and then takes her knee off the seat and stands on the ground.

My wife is 5'10" so this method may not work for someone shorter.
