Passenger Arm Rests

Greetings, I'm looking for passenger arm rests for the tri glide. The ones that I have seen have two major design issues, that are problematic in my opinion.

1) They mount to the tour pack lid or the tour pack, this seems very flimsy and asking for an expensive repair. (Harley has a better mounting method as it bolts to the trike body, which should be okay as long as the arm rests are not used to assist with mount / dismount.)

2) The various designs do not seem to have a positive lock or detent that secures the arms and there seem to be complaints about the arm rest pads moving about with no way to better secure them. (The Harley arm rest apparently has a spring and ball detent like the passenger foot boards but this is in my thinking not a very positive detent for better security for the passenger.)

Therefore I am looking for arm rests that have a secure mount (I can live with the Harley design) and an arm rest with a secure detent position that could hold a passenger securely. My wife has a destroyed shoulder with very limited arm movement and can't always effectively hold on, so something that holds her in solidly would be desirable. Any suggestions?

Hi @Miner,
I looked at the options when I did mine, and definitely choose the genuine HD ones, JUST for the better mounting.

The install can be a pain, but doable! (You may discover a few new cuss words, but it’ll be worth it in the long run! …Just my opinion).
(Now in reality, mine was a piece of cake because I got my game plan to do it while I had everything getting ready to be painted… but again, completely doable while the tub is on).

The arms can be “adjusted” for how easy they pull in or out, just by the tension of the nut on the bottom.

The very top armrests do indeed swivel pretty easy, but that’s not a deal breaker. It’s only when I ride by myself, they will turn. (They do not turn round & round like a propeller on a plane, lol, … but they still will move/turn a little.
For example: I can ride 20 miles, and they may turn from the 12:00 position, to the 3:00 position … it’s no big deal)

I’d definitely recommend them and would do it again if I had to choose again.
…..My wife loves them!!!

I did an install video when I did mine.

Hope it helps! 👍🏻👍🏻
