Hi folks. My real name is Gert Roewer but from now on my handle will be 'Gertbuilt". The "built' bit comes about because I have a small business building one-off custom trikes. Puff and 3 Wheelar are both friends of mine and we are all members of the National 3Wheelers Assn. in Oz. I happen to be a founding member and am also a committee member. I am also extremely old. (67 next month)

At first glance at this forum, I feel pleased as it seems you guys in Merrica like your bike based trikes. I have so far only converted bikes to trikes even though there are some car based extreme trikes in the pipeline. Not that there is anything wrong with them but in Oz there is a preponderance of VW based trikes.
We have quite a few trike manufacturers here that do nothing else but VW's

My personal ride at the moment is a Kawasaki z1300 six cylinder unit with just 50 thousand km. on the clock from new. I am a nut case for the z13 and have a collection of them. It has a modified rear section from a 1961 EK Holden car. The EK is the baby brother of a 57 Chev. Holden cars are owned by GM. I have done many long trips on this trike and in thee weeks will be riding it to Albany in Western Australia for the Ulysses Club AGM. Albany is about 3,500km from here.

The triking world in Australia is growing quickly. I plan on being a millionaire as a result in around twelve months (3 Wheelar I'm joking).

Although I am a passionate triker, I also still love two wheels. I don't presume to preach to the initiated, but when people ask me why I ride a bike with "training wheels", I give them the Harley philosophical quotation..."If you need to ask why, you'd never understand anyway"

I shall try to post some pics soon.
