Just bought my first trike. 2019 Tri Glide. Engine light and coolant light came on. Took it back to dealer and they said it was a loose wire. Two weeks later, same thing. Now dealer is saying whoever changed plugs pinched a coolant wire. Is this possible? Would that also cause the cooling fans not to work?

Welcome to Trike Talk

Anything is possible even tho the wires run thru the electrical carrier seen here, # 29 is the top cover to #28 fastened to the frame under the gas tank. The gas tank is removed to change spark plugs and wires. So bumping a wire could possibly happen. You might ask your dealer to point out to you where the wire was disturbed for your own reference

Doug.. welcome to Trike Talk👍👍.. If it’s a wire to the fan then I guess that could be possible is Trike on the #Warranty or they want to charge you for it?

VERY POSSIBLE, Same happened to me. 3 times back to dealer before they found it. Mine was done from changing the waterpump. Wire was down by the frame.

Sounds like we should all be more vigilant at using the self check feature on the fans. Dual Cool models have it and I know how to check. Newer Models I do not know but assume it would be the same? Turn ignition on , dont start , roll throttle Wide Open and hold till fans run. Of course if the tempature sensor or wiring was faulty the fans would not be told to run. That's why in this case knowing what wire was pinched would be helpfull.
