old lehman kit

`just had the honda dealer send a man to my house to learn about trikes. he had just bought a 93 goldwing with a lehman kit on it.

this kit has drum brakes, a solid axle with a small third member looks like a toyota or something about that size, but the really sad part is two large black "beams" welded to the rear end and extended "outside" the bike to the swingarm holes, really ugly built.

what the heck is this conglomeration of parts ? i can only assume it is lehmans first attempt at building a trike. it has the smallest diameter driveshaft i have ever seen, even smaller than the OEM i think.

anyone shed any light on this ?
