Just moved from Jersey to the Tampa area. Used to run Red Line 20W50 synthetic in Jersey and wondered if I should switch to 20W60 now that I’m in FLorida. Riding a 2021 Tri Glide.

Not sure how long you have been living there north of Tampa, but if you want a nice ride to a "Florida style" unique biker bar try visiting Herb's Limestone Country Club, 5127 C. County Road 663, Ona, FL 33865. It will be about 100 miles or so from where you are.
We have been riding there for years and it is a hoot.
I use syn 20-50 in the summer and 10-40 in the winter (I ride all winter here in Chicago). I have used motorcycle specific oils like Mobil1, Amsoil, BelRay, Valvoline, Castrol (never H-D Syn3). I have NEVER had an oil related problem in over 40 years....62 years if you also count all my UJM's.
I've never had a problem getting oil when I needed it. Usually I always buy oil by the case (normally when it's on sale) so that I will NEVER run out of oil.
Same here. Just got a case of Redline 20-50 in yesterday. Over the next few months I'll be riding in 100 degrees and in 40 degrees...maybe even thru some snow on Beartooth Pass in a few months.

What month would you be up there in the north Kevin. We are still fine tuning our "limited" western travels for this year. Sometime in August we are hitting Wyoming, Montana, and the Dakotas, just not sure what order and for how long. Been through the Cody area but never ridden the pass.
We have not nailed down the exact dates, probably sometime late June thru middle of July will be visiting family in Idaho and Montana, then heading over to Yellowstone/Beartooth.
Beartooth pass is just a fantastic ride...the road is great and the views are hard to beat.
I believe the only months we have been thru there are June and July, here are a couple of photos-

Great pics! I'll certainly be digging all the cold riding gear out.
I never had a oil problem i just use what the manufacturer recommends?...And
as far as running out..You can buy oil anywhere..Why I bet you can even buy it at a bank.....Sure back in the good old days (50-60’s)..As the engines got up in miles and burned oil you would charge to heavy straight weigh oil’s....But that was then‘When the the good old days weren’t so good
...
I did the same - then I found out there was BETTER and CHEAPER oil that was far superior to the house brand.
Remember a few years back when Harley said using syn oil would destroy your engine - - until THEY came out with their own syn oil made by the lowest bidder.
None of my bikes ever burned oil. Never kept one long enough for that to happen.
You are right - you can buy oil just about anywhere, but I haven't seen it at the bank - yet.![]()
yes there was snow but not like your picture, we had to put our warm clothes on.
Har, first time I rode Bearthooth was July 5, 1982. I was so green I'd never even heard of it. Rode in to Red Lodge on July 4th after visiting the Custer Battlefield and going on in to Yellowstone the next day. At the bar that night locals were talking about snow on the mountain and I assured my wife it was just snow on the sides of the road that had not completely melted. WRONG! It was drizzling rain when we left Red Lodge and as we climbed it got colder and then started snowing - so hard I could only run 15-20 mph and couldn't see my hand in front of my face! But we made it over and on in to Yellowstone. However I don't think she's ever forgiven me for putting her through that traumatic experience.
