Oil level

Just purchased a 1998 FLHTCU/I with a Champion trike kit. It has a MERCH Performance oil filter. Drained oil, cleaned filter and put 3 quarts oil in. It reads full on the cold dipstick mark(it's cold). Manual says check level on jiffy stand. Since I can't so that where should my oil level read? Owners manual says 3 quart capacity. Service manual says 4 quart capacity. I always used 4 quarts in my Shovels. Any body have the answer?

Try this first. Look on the back side on the stick. It might have a scale for a side car setup. One of my older bikes did. I will look tomorrow and let you know what the difference was.

Thanks Gorilla. Couldn't find anything in the service manual but looked in the owners manual for sidecar oil check and it said 1/2" higher than on jiffy. Don't know why I didn't correlate level trike with level sidecar. Guess brains goin just as fast as the bod!
