Decatting my header after the ride to and from the rally cooked our right sides. Does the O2 sensor need anti-seize on the threads or put on dry?

Make sure it is "02 safe". But yes you need anti-seize. I use a copper based, and it works great.

Sorry to hear you had heat problems on the ride home from Eureka Springs and hope it helps.

We ran into something that I hadn't experienced before while riding through Kansas. The wind was blowing so hard from the south that ALL the engine heat came out on the right side of the engine. Tried putting my foot up on the pegs....didn't help at all. Tried riding almost side saddle for a while but was afraid the wind was going to blow me off. Finally stuck my foot up on the lower fairing and that helped a lot. Couldn't imagine how hot it would have been if the cat was still in there. The trike ran great in the wind too. The five other two-wheelers I was with were all over the road, but the trike ran straight and true.

Good luck with the project!!

We had that same south wind, heat was so bad the wife had to change socks, the boot zipper was burning her leg. She kept putting her leg on top of mine so I got fried. Going to a K&N filter and will redo Auto Tune after.

Had the same problem last year. Wife tried putting her foot on my lap, but that only worked for a while. Almost blistered her leg ! I finally found a piece of cardboard at a rest stop & used it to block that (non existent) heat!
I was able to get away with the highway pegs for me. Engine oil temp was 318*...... Ambient was 103*....
What do ya do, wait for night????
The only time we swerved by the wind was when we came out by a semi. But it was controllable.
