Not a good day but it could have been worse

Setting at a stop sign on my way to the VA clinic I hear a crunch and feel my trike shake. When I looked back there was the front end of a white car against the left rear fender of the Hannigan Transformer. The lady driving said she wasn't paying attention. I can believe that. :AGGHH:The good is no one hurt, no major or structure damage. The bad is now I have a great big white mark on the fender. I am not going to do anything to it until I hear from her insurance. I am glad Hannigan makes a strong fiberglass body because we can not find any cracks or damage other than paint. :clapping:It may buff out if not a repaint is all it will need.

Good no one hurt and yes most of the makers do make very strong bodies. My champion got backed into a week after I bought it, little damage got complete repaint. Didn't want a patch job..I always watch my mirrors for that first car to stop course I don't know if I would be able to react quick enough. Or even if got room to pull ahead, more habit than anything.

Got to watch those rear enders. A brother LEO here in Miami was killed a couple of days ago on his issued HD. He was sitting in a designated left turn lane at a light when he was hit from behind sending him and his police bike into the fast moving crossing traffic. He was hit again and sent flying 25 ft to his death.

I think it was last year
I was sitting at a stop light, a truck was looking at me and my trike taking a picture
He ran into the back of the car in front of him.

Got to watch those rear enders.

My son and I learned this the hard way. Back in '92 I was going to take my son for a ride downtown on my '88 Harley FXRT, but at the last minute decided to take our Chevy S-10 instead. Along the way I stopped for a yellow light that I normally would have run trying to set a good example since my son was coming up on driving age. About 15 seconds after we were stopped we were clobbered in the back end so hard my head hit the back window of the extended cab truck we were driving. Had I have taken the bike instead there's little doubt this drunk driver would have killed us both and the wife I was separated from would have walked away a rich woman.

Glad you are ok, Make sure you check thoroughly for small cracks. Fiberglass can hide small cracks that will show up later from vibration.
