NORTH EAST TT 2018 RALLY getting close

Hey Herman,

Thanks for the invite up to your place. That was the best clam chowder we have had in a while, even better than the lobster stew we had at some fancy place up in Portland this weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer but had to get up to the nieces and get settled in our room we booked. At least the weather gods were with us.

BTW, they had a huge Corvette weekend, almost every hotel in Old Orchard Beach was filled with them. Even spotted a rare split window coupe running around....

Thanks again and the next time up we will stop in for lunch....

Thank you dougv, it was nice to meet you guys . The northeast gathering will be here before you know it , the summers seem to fly by for us . Hope the weather is good , I know everyone will have a great time .

thanks again captain h :Coffee:

Just over a week away. Thought we needed some chatter.

No chance my trike will be ready for rally, so it looks like the Mississippi (I actually typed missus but spell check is evil and funny. So I left it) will be stuck on 2-wheels for a couple days. Which I will trailer up there since I am not completely heartless. I thought she wouldn’t want to go up there the day early, as scheduled, without trike. But, nope. She wants her vacation.

Hey Andrew,

Hopefully I'm not in the same boat as you. Last week I rode the trike all week and on Friday it wouldn't turn over that morning. The Goldwings are very complicated when it comes to the starting circuit but as of Tuesday night I thought it was just the start switch because it turned over when I jumped the switch, last night I thought I should make sure it runs and it did as long as I kept the start switch pushed in and also shorted it. There are two sets of contacts, one N/O and the N/C so back to troubleshooting. Eventually found out it was the kill switch, the switch was OK, but they had spade connectors on the wires and those were corroded and loose. So now I have it jumped and it appears to be OK.

I would have been 4 wheeling it to the rally!!!!

See you next week....

Always carry wire for emergency Macgyvering. Well, if anyone has any problems up there, I will have my trailer handy. As long as 5’x10’ is enough. Chomping at the bit down in Fl. Vacation starts when I get home tomorrow. I may not be running, but at least I was able to tell some rocket scientists (fine, rocket engineers) how to get their stuff running properly.

Didn't see any alligators, but did see a wild pig and a slow moving turtle. Still find it funny that rocket components are build in Jupiter FL. At least it wasn’t stuff built in Uranus....bada bing.

Doug,

Hope your starting situations are over, and the bad wiring was the problem.. Looking forward to meeting you and John, at the restaurant in Otis....

The weather is indeed looking good. Bring your warm jackets for the morning though. I’m not used to not worrying how I pack. Since I have to trailer up, I’m just throwing all sorts of crap in the back of the SUV.

Andrew. What ever happened to the VW That's a trike right ? I was hopping to see it. Well I can't believe no one of the original group is attending. When it was in their back yard they were all GUNG HO. We move it 100 miles away ( all the rallies for me were that far except Torrington ) and nothing. This is not one to be missed. This is going to be as close to a real rally as we can do. Sad that our NETT. Rally will be ending after 8 years. I am excited to see what Lowes is going to throw in for the grand prize. I'm giving away a $125 drone and 12 raffle prizes. I thought about a 32" flat screen but then How would the winner get it home. < LOL> Never too late for locals in the area. A real breakfast , a real Dinner, and night entertainment , and a cash bar with low drink $$ . Right now we are deciding on what will do this year. This place is loaded with venue .Baseball hall of fame , Howes Cavern , a boat cruise on the Hudson , or the Rinebeck Antique Airplane Areodome are this years choices. We have a nice crowd this year. A few more would have been nice . I'm sure guests might join us on a few of our adventures ( HA HA ) stationed for pictures.

Working way too hard to have time to work on VW. Even if it was running, I wouldn’t trust it all the way up there. Maybe trailer one day. Dianne puts in her vote for baseball H of F or boat ride. Just about filled back of Caddy and will get trailer on in morning since we decided to head up a day early for some “West and wewaxation”. To quote E. Fudd.:qpnmt:

That's funny Andrew. That is my car license plate #. EFUDD

leaving around 10 on Thursday. If I can get sleepyhead out of bed. We're fine she will be sitting at the breakfast table before I get up. She is excited to meet everyone !!!

Lowes donated 2 full Craftsman Wrench sets. One metric on a the other SAE. So we have 3 big raffle prizes. 10 people 15 prizes not bad odds ...

Just watch out for the vicious dog at the check in desk. Best parking seems to be at highest parking lot. My trailer and Caddy are up there.

Are we ready for a trike rally kids?

to quote Spongebob Squarepants, “I’m ready, I’m ready”!

And yes, this is the 1st pic taken at the Acra Manor hotel.

I could take a ride down that way tomorrow if I knew what some of the plans were. We had lunch at Brooks BBQ yesterday. Windham is about a 2 hour ride for me.

Bob, we might be riding to a Bazaar Sat. Not positive. If you showed up 9:30-10am we will be doing something. Note trikes are parked behind single story red building pool side (building with 300# rooms). If coming, leave message here and I will pass on to wait.

I doesn’t look like I will be able to get down there that early. Some unexpected things came up here.

Sorry we missed you. We actually did not leave for a ride until closer to noon . We ended Up at the Windham General Store. Yea we ate , just ice cream and desert . I can't believe we did that either. We were there till 2. Then rode the area by the Falls . I am hoping my dash cam or Dougs GoPro got some footage we can post on UTube and transfer here. I'm going to try later today. Would you be interested in joining us for a ride next year?
