I know many of us on this site have use the BT 45 for the front of their trikes. Some have mounted in the normal position and some have mounted backwards. Personal preference... I understand that... whatever works is okay..

My BT 45 has a bout 11,000 miles on it. For the sake of clarity it was mounted in reverse.. However I am starting to notice a noise between 48 and 55 mph. It sounds very much like the old Avon tires did that many of us used 15 to 20 years ago.. For those of you that would remember the Avon was a very hard rubber and after about 5000 miles the tire would have lasted forever but they sure were noisy.

Just interested to know if any other of you trikers out there that have used the BT 45 have experienced the same issue. Thank you and advance for your feedback and comments.

I am now running the Avon Cobra Trike tire. When I used the BT45 I first tried it in reverse rotation and did get the noise. On the next tire I ran it in forward rotation and don't remember it as noisy. YMMV.

I know this is of no value, but I just turn up the radio a bit more when my front tire starts to make noises. My fronts usually get cupping here in Florida at about the 10K mark. So I flip it and let the other side wear as well. Then replace.

I would be interested in the responses, too. I put a BT-45 on my GL1800 a thousand miles ago. Just got back from a 600 mile trip. No noise, smooth ride. Mine is mounted in normal rotation.

Some of these Texas roads are re-topped with some pretty coarse gravel and they make some noise no matter what tire you have. But on the smooth topped roads, this tire is quiet as a mouse. Things may be different after 10,000 miles. I'll have to wait and see.

There must be something in the air out there. Saturday mine started making noise as we were coming home from Iowa. Turns out the left side is cupping causing the noise. Ive got a little over 12,000 on the tire.
