Hi all -- I rode a 2005 wing (2 wheels) for 3 years (incl'g 2 cross country rides). Had multiple knee surgeries -- had to stop. Now want a trike -- goldwing only! But I live in MA, no trike dealers. I'm actually looking for a 2008 - 2010 used trike (budget reasons). I need help with logistics: 1. how do I arrange a test ride (just to confirm trikes are for me)? 2. how to find a good used trike. I see the major advertisers are in PA, Ga, Fl (on the east coast) - how do I locate a trike, test ride it, how much can be negotiated (price), how to manage registration from another state etc . How do I gt the bike checked out before buying without knowing any mechanics?
All opinions welcome. Thanks

Fordor... you're in a pickle. LOL. But first things first. Somehow, someway you need to find a GW trike within driving distance, for your test ride. See if you like 'em, and can live with a trike. That's a given before you can even contemplate the other problems.

Then to find a trike... I'd suggest craigslist, eBay, and of course, the classifieds here at TT. I've seen some good deals go thru there.

And if you find one that your interested in, you can most likely get someone from here to check it out for you. I know if it's in the Houston area, I'd be glad to help. Been wrenching on Wings & Valkyries since '81, tho never owned an 1800.

I agree with the other poster. See if you can find one that you can ride. There are a LOT of dealers around that you can contact when you are ready. Mine is a 2001 with a Hannigan conversion. Purchased it from Coach Rice Trikes in Georgia. I had back surgery a couple of years ago and I couldn't be happier with the trike. Takes a little time to get used to the way it rides as cornering is a HUGE difference. But, once you get adjusted to one it's a friggin' three wheel BLAST!!!!!

Welcome to the site, there are other member's from Ma. on these boards. We just had the NorthEast Trike get together in Sturbridge, Ma.. Check out the blogs on the Rayy site, also you did'nt mention what part of Ma. your from. You can send Rosy, a msg. as he has a real nice Honda & he may be close to you, or John in Ct. may be able to hook you up. As far as test rides your fortunate to be close to Lake George in N.Y. First full week in June they have Americade & every Mfg. attends. Or, you could contact Zook, or one of our other Sponsors & fly down there & pick one out....... Good Luck & I'm sure you'll receive alot of good info.....
