Just registered. I'm now riding my second trike, a HD TirGlide (my first Harley). My last ride (first trike) was a 2010 Can-Am Spyder RT-S. I loved that ride but could not rely on it as it was always in the shop.

I've been riding since I was 32, about 33 years. Got the trike because of bad knees and I love it. I've owned Honda Goldwings, VTX 1800s. Valkyrie, Yamaha Venture Royales, Kawasaki 650 and my first, a Suzuki 250.

I retired about 5 years ago so I have plenty of time to ride.

the issues with the Can-Am... mostly software problems that caused the throttle actuator to draw power from the battery too long after shut down that eventually casued the actuator to burn out and since it was an integral part of the the throttle body the entire unit had to be replaced. Can-AM never made a recall on this, they did eventually send out a software update

I had to wait 5 weeks for a new throttle body. and it all started again this year. the spyder was in the shop 89 days in the 21 months I owned it. BRP/Can-Am was very nice about it but they just didn't know what to do, it seems. I missed all the prime time riding last Spring and the summer was brutal as everywhere in the South. When it started again with the check engine and limp home mode I decided enough was enough.

I just didn't think I could rely on it and there are no qualified mechanics that I know of.
