Brief History, I had 2 triumph's from the 72 to 82. both 650's. then due to wife, kids and job no bikes until 10/2013. when I bought a new 2013 HD Ultra limited. unfortunately due to my age 64, when I bought it. the weight of the bike and the wife and I totalling 1380 lbs, I was very uncomfortable at slow speed riding 2 up with it . Maybe if there wasn't such a long time of not riding it would be different. Well this spring age 66 I traded it in on a 2015 triglide (ouch). a huge some of money. But the upside is my wife loves it. She is even thinking of trying to learn to ride it. unfortunately I have been required to work a lot of overtime, so not much time to ride. we have only put 800 miles so far. but I retire next year and things will improve in that regard. I will post pictures on profile later.

Welcome from KY! I could come get your trike and ride it for you so that it doesn't just sit while your waiting to retire. I know your thinking why would he do that , I'm just a nice guy that way.

Welcome to TT from Florida, we were in the same boat at age 69, be patient, you'll learn to love the trike.

welcome aboard, teach the wife to ride she can keep it in use until you retire.

Thanks

The overtime should die out soon, so I hope to get it up to 2000 mi before i put it away for the season. we live pretty close to the Shenandoah Mtns. so i should get plenty of riding in shortly. Thanks for the welcome.

Hi, Just joined. I ride a 2009 Goldwing and am contemplating triking it so I am mostly lurking around trying to absorb as much info as I can.

Welcome to Trike Talk, Glad to have you on board, Ride safe and have fun. Retirement is what you make of it! It seams like I work harder these day than I did before I retired. That's just me and I'm always looking for something to do.

Hey Leigh, retirement has been the best part of my life. Never thought that getting old would be more enjoyment.  By the way, Triumphs have always been my favorites since 1957 when my first bike was a Tiger Cub.  I keep looking at those new Bonnevilles.

Welcome to the forum. My first bike was a Suzuki X6 Hustler (1966), When in Jr college in 1970 got a Norton Commando, (being slim on cash it was a little cheaper than the Triumph) Any way after retiring(from work!) The wife and I enjoy tooling around on the 08 Ultra Classic. Good to have you onboard. I am a newbie to the forum myself. I spend so much time outside playing I don't spend a whole lot of time on the net. (heavy winter will change that)
