New Triker

I purchased a 2010 Harley Triglide just this past week. I have in excess of 40 years of Riding experience. First owned a 1960 Vespa, when I was a kid, owned 68 Bonneville, 69 Lighting. and 2 other HD bikes, 1993 Sportster, 2003 Fat Boy..
I knew trikes were different, but this week has been an eye opener.
There is very little detailed information I can find out there, regarding trikes, and riding them effectively, Safely, and so on.
I'm certainly all ears as to anything anyone else can help me with, as I transition into the three wheel club.
I want to get the most use of this Trike I can, with active planning for some long cross country trips already in the wind, But I want to learn as much as I can about Do's and Don't....Thanks in advance to all....I am searching this forum with an eagerness I have not commited to doing anywhere else in a long time...

This should help
Just a note from a guy ( me ) I have been riding a trike since 1999 ( 1997 ) if you count the 1980 Gold wing with Voyager, it will take you 1,000 miles more or less to be VERY. Comfortable riding a trike. I laugh when people say they can ride one because it is easier that 2 wheels.
I have had Harley guys ask if they can try it and I tell them no , I don't think you can Handle , it and I don't want you putting my trike into a pole or ditch, THANK VERY MUCH .. I will pass. ;)

Thats the very reason I put a foot clutch and hand shift on my trike -- got tired of people asking if they could try it out

John.... Yea the last few days has been a real eye-opener...anyone who says riding a trike is easy...has never done it... I think it would be very easy to get lulled into a false sense of security.. and this thing would bite you in a heartbeat if you did not pay attention... In time I know I will feel a lot better about it...just because I have no other choice, but it sure as hell is not a two wheeler...and has benefits and limitations many would be surprised at
Thanks for the Link and I will read it well..

You go from a lower body workout to a upper body workout. Now if I could just get rid of the excess gut between the two.
