new trike owner

Hey Everybody,
Just wanted to say "Hello:wave4:"
At this very moment I am having my 2012 Victory CCT converted to a trike by RMCP & CSC. I have NEVER ridden a trike b4 but I felt it was about time to upgrade & enjoy 3 wheels. Also bought a Timeout tt & am really looking forward to this summer & a lot of touring. I am retired so I have no schedules to meet & my plan is to be gone about 4 months, visiting the NW USA & Canada. I just plan on winging it. Last summer I was gone 9 weeks & covered a little over 9K miles. That, of course, was b4 my new trike & tt. I should have my trike done & back sometime this month. B4 I hook the tt to it I have got to practice my 3 wheel'n. Been rid'n 2 now for almost 30 years. This will be most interesting 4 me. Think I'll find a BIG, empty parking lot someplace & just ride around for awhile. At the very least I can't turn it over or drop it!:) I am quite sure I'll lose gas mileage:gah:. The Victory wasn't that great at gas mileage anyway but then most new big bikes aren't now anyway.
You all take care & God bless,

Welcome to Trike Talk from Central VA. You're gonna love that trike. Take your time and as you mentioned, practice a bit in the parking lot for starters. I'm sure you'll be out on the roads in no time! ThumbUp

Welcome...sounds like a sweet ride! There is a buttload of info here on riding techniques. Spend the time and read up-you will do fine! Just remember it takes time to get comfortable on a trike.:wave4::D

welcome aboard glad you joined us. Sounds like a really nice ride. Be safe. Looking forward to pictures.

Welcome to Trike Talk from Vero Beach, Florida and congrats on the new trike. Looks like you have it planned just right. Getting familiar with the trike before hitting the open roads. I didn't have any problem adjusting to the trike but I bet that if I ever rode 2 wheels again I would surely forget the kickstand.

I also had a TO camping trailer and a Solace that is the Chinese version. You'll enjoy it all and especially the ride. Gas mileage on my GL1800 Trike average 35 mpg during my trip thru the mountains of the northeastern states last year. Out west you may want to strap down an extra 2.5 gal gas can next to your cooler. Lol

Welcome Victory082 glad you joined us.Sounds like the fun is just starting.Hope you are including THE RALLY in your travels.RIDE SAFE

Welcome and happy you joined us. wish you well with your newly converted Victory and you summer of touring. post some pictures of your trike and travels would be nice. Be Blessed.

Welcome to TT, glad you joined in. With a little practice, you'll be doing fine in no time at all. Like everyone will suggest, keep your feet up and remember the extra width when approaching the gas pumps. Have fun, be safe. :wave4:

Hi Everyone,
4got about the kickstand thing. Left mine down once, in a parking lot full of tourists, wasn't a pretty sight ( bike weighs 950 lbs. wet ) & my ego was smashed for about the time it took me to get out of there & out of sight! Hooray for 3 wheels.
Thanks for the tip on the extra gas thing. I will probably try that until I get a firm grip on my gas mileage. Pictures I will post but right now I'm having some trouble uploading any. I will figure that out.....trouble is on my end I'm sure.
Thank you 4 all the great welcomes! Hope 2 meet some of u soon.
