Boy this has been stressful for me but it is over. Now that I am 70 years old I finally came to the conclusion that if I was going to keep riding for any longer, safely, was to get a tri-glide. The little woman refused the deal unless I agreed to trade in my Ultra and my Fatboy. So to keep harmony in the family, I agreed and now am a proud owner of a brand new Harley. Thanks guys for helping make the dissension. Thanks Dennis and Trent and all of the gang for chiming in. Going to be picking it up in a couple of days. I having the stage 1 and a few other things done to it before I take delivery. Wow what a day. I need someone to pinch me good so I will wake up. I have always bought used bikes and this is the first new one for me and I laugh at my self as for this time in my life to purchase a new Harley, it's so unreal. Wow I say again.

Congrats on your NEW Harley !! You are going to love it ! There is always a learning curve, but it should be short once a person finds it's just as much fun if not more. One thing tho,,,, It's hard to get away from the better half ! She will be going everywhere you go on that thing ! LOL !:clapping:

My wife had our Roxy picked out before I even got to the Dealership. Can you see the smile on her face as we left for our test ride!! Now we have almost 2500 miles in 6 weeks of riding. YES there is a learning curve .... and trust me it will get better with each ride.

Enjoy!!

If you had it a few weeks ago, Trent and I would have had you join us going down the coast!
ENJOY, and get ready for cramps in your lower face! (too much smiling)

We have some friends living in Otis Or. Do you know Nancy & Mike Ireland ?

Sloufoot..... no I don't know Nancy and Mike. Just been here for 2 years now. Moved here from Portland. I usually ride over back to Portland and hook up with some guys I use to ride around with. I met one guy here in the neighborhood, Willie, he just opened up a motorcycle & auto repair shop here in Lincoln City. So if any of you guys coming thru this area and have any problems, he could get ya back on the road.

Should be getting call next week when the trike will be ready for pick up. I like rush mufflers but some how with all the excitement of adding this and that, I am going to try the Vance Hines that are made for the trike. So I hope I like them. Going with the S&S air cleaner. They said they will do a remap but thinking of trying the new Vance Hines fuelpak fp3. Be able to check whats going on with my IPhone. Going with the Anarchy wheels and tires. Hey at my age I may not have another chance LOL LOL

Those wheels will look great, and sure be easier to keep clean and shiny than the stock ones. I am a big fan of V&H mufflers... I have the V&H HO { High Output }, which I had installed after hearing them on a 2014 Ultra sitting in the showroom. But with the stage 4, they had too much concussion for the BOB so I had to quiet them down some. It was not the loudness that bothered her, it was the vibration. Sounds like you are startin' out with some fun additions on that Baby!! Keep us up to date on your adventure.

Congratulations on the new ride!!! Don't let Trent and Dennis steer you in the wrong direction now.....they are two of the "wild bunch" (lol)!!!! :pepper::pepper::pepper:

On this trip Marilyn thought I drank too much also. I keep some beer in cooler so after the day's ride, I have a beer. This trip on several nights I had 2 or 3. (maybe the stress of being with Trent)
With time changes I also was still up when the sun went down a few times!
Real wild bunch!!!!!!!!

I don't drink much my self. Use to but as time has gone by I slowly stopped. Hey but can make til 10:30 before I hit the hay. LOL LOL

I have a way of stressing people out by making them eat too much... ha ha!! . Normally I carry a jug of Crown Royal to relieve stress,,, no room for it this time. I would wake up at 5am to whiz, because I drank a beer before bed,, look out the window, and Swan would be out there with a coffee cup in hand fiddlin' with his Trike!! Go to bed with the chickens,,, get up before the chickens...

Trent, caught ya on another thread. Yep, going in tomorrow and order the V&H headers. They are waiting for the wheels I ordered to come in before doing anything. They were going to do a remap but once I do the headers I know I will need a tuner. So I think I will do the V&H fuelpak FP3. Being able check on things thru blueray on my IPhone is pretty cool. I know it may not be perfection tuning like the younger guys like but it will tune enough to keep me happy. Coming from an 88 to 103, I don't think I need to worry about any extra horse power with a complete after market exhaust system.

That should work just fine... You will like the Power Duals... Sound good and I think they look really good also..

Great news about your new ride. Let us know how your doing. Couple hundred miles you'll be comfortable - couple thousand, you'll be an "expert". Keep those feet up and watch out pulling in too close at the gas pumps.

Have fun, post often, ride safe! :wave4:

Yep, have to keep that in mind for sure about the gas pumps. I did became aware of the problem as I was out on a trial ride on a tri glide. Going thru some curves, I was on the inside next to the center line. I just realized at the moment that the left wheel was across the center line. I thought "ok going to have to travel down the center of the road, I have parts that is sticking out too much here" Going to be different but like you guys are saying, a few miles under the belt and it will seem all natural.

Trent.....I ordered my fuelpak but was going to order the headers until I asked service what would be the round about figure what it would cost for installation. " oh about 350.00 bucks" I said forget that, I will put them on my self. Now will I have to have any exhaust adapters to complete the installation? I have seen some on Ebay but don't know if the headers comes with the complete system ready to install or not. Guess I could give V&H a ring. Was looking into Fuelmoto headers but about another 150.00 more and I don't know for sure if I would tell the difference in perforance. So now may go with V&H

I can't remember exactly,, been a while,,, but I THINK there is some kind of extension that goes on the power duals for the TG back where they connect to the slip on's. Just cant remember. I am sure V & H can tell you.

When my dealer here adds some upgrades to new bikes before they sell 'em, they almost always put on a set of V & H Power Duals if they change out the headers. Best looks, great performance,,, they think,,, . But what ever you choose I am sure will work just fine for you!!! I did have a set of V & H Black Widows with the Power Duals on mine. Last fall when I was sitting at the parts counter, a sales guy started a new 2014 Ultra a coupla rows of bikes away. As soon as I heard it, I turned around because I could not believe how deep and rumbly it was. Walked over there..and it had new V&H Power Duals and V&H H.O.

mufflers. Went back to parts,,, asked if they had a set of those H.O.'s to fit my TG. Yep! In black too! Don't need chrome since ya cant see 'em. My Tech was standing right there twiddling his thumbs too. 45 minutes later I was pulling outta the shop with the H.O.'s installed. Very happy with sound and performance, specially with the stage 4.

Yep, went into a parts distributor Cat. And it looks like you have to have the extensions to complete the install. I think for the trike, most headers will call for the adapters.

Consider the Fullsac CX pipes. They use the stock heat shields. When ordering tell them it is for a trike and they will add the correct s pipe extensions. http://fullsac.com/product/fullsac-cx-pipe/
The DX pipe has a full round cross over. You want the CX for the trike as the flattened cross over adds torque.
My future HD mods will include these CX ceramic coated pipes!

Thanks Bob. Will look into them. I had their true duals on my 2006 Ultra and liked them. Thats what I liked about the Fuelmoto, you can use your own heat shields. But hey where ever I can save buck it helps.
