Hello all from the land of Oz.

I had gotten an email asking to making a post so I don't get kicked off for being a bot, so here's my first post...lol.

To start off.... I hail from s.e. ks . I have a homebuilt, vw powered, chopper style trike and a '98 HD wideglide. will most likely post pics in near future. I originally found this site looking for answers to questions I had.

Currently recovering from an accident I had on the bike. Ended up with a broken collarbone, broken rib, and collapsed lung. as a result, considering starting another trike project. extreme fork rakes are heavy to steer and made me give thought considering my injuries. Right now undecided whether to build another from scratch or buy an axle kit for the Harley. had determined that both would cost roughly the same.

I guess that's all for now. I look forward to interactions with others on this site in the future.

Hello wglide and welcome to the website from the U.P. of Michigan. I was 2 years younger than you when a kid crossed the center line and hit me head on. I was on my Gold Wing and I was in the air long enough to think" this is gonna hurt ". And it did. I have been disabled ever since. But I can ride trike in my missions for the Patriot Guard. There are many here that either are building or have built aV.W. based trike. I am sure that if you start tossing around ideas others will chip in. Good luck.

Thanks for all the welcomes.

My accident wasn't near that dramatic. I was cruising around town and making a turn from a stop sign when I suddenly went into a slide. I've been in slides b4 and learned to recover from them, this time it was my mistake to try to recover than to just let the bike go. I had regained control in the slide when suddenly it acted like I had hit a curb and flipped. When I was able to get back up I saw that oil drain plug had come out halfway through the turn and the bike flipped when it cleared the oil slick. And as fate would have it, it happened right by the hospital....lol.

As far as my next project, I haven't decided whether to build a v6 powered or put an axle kit on the Harley.

I got the message to post on here or get a boot :p
Not sure if this is what they wanted me to do.
I ride a 14 Tri-Glide, I've only put 5475 miles on it,
hard rain, thunder & lightening & high winds was
not my choice of weather conditions out the gate,
but I still Loved every mile :)
My husband has a '10 that he's gotten more attached
to after being on 2 wheels for 50+ yrs. It was definitely
a change he doesn't regret. He says the difference between
mine & his, I got power steering & he's got manual

At least you were close to medical help, I was 35 miles from the nearest hospital, then had to be transferred to a trauma center 100 miles away. Not fun. I think that the amount of power that a trike demands, especially when riding 2 up, that the 4 cylinder would be a big advantage. But that is entirely up to you. Good luck. Ride safe.
