Finally got my new handlebars on. They are the Wild Ones 12.5" bagger bars. WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I'm 6'2" and the stock bars just didn't work for me at all. I now truly feel at HOME on the TriGlide. I also had "Heat Demon" heated grips installed at the same time. It also handles like it has power steering

Very nice. I'm not as tall as you and want to go with the LA Choppers 10" twin peaks handlebars

did you have to extend all the wires and cables or just the clutch cable?

No milling of the bars, just had to drill a small hole for the heated grip switch wires. Didn't have to change grips either.

My hands do get more wind which in one of the reasons I also added the heated grips. For me the difference it the way it now feels and handles far out weighs the extra air on my hands.

Are those bars bigger than 1inch dia?? The reason I ask is that I bought a set of the heat demons and they would not fit ----- then in the fine print at the bottom of the instructions it was indicated that milling of the inside of standard 1inch bars was req'd for them to fit.
Sent the Demons back and bought heated gloves.
I would still like to install a set but really do not want to go through the pain of pulling the bars off and carting them to a machine shop.

Wonder if your bars may be constructed with a thinner wall material to allow them to be reformed from 1 1/4" down to 1" as opposed to a standard 1" HD bar?? That would be my best guess.

Not sure about thinner wall construction, they look about the same on the ends as my stock bars do. My friend that has a 2013 TriGlide is who told me about the Heat Demon grips, he has them on his trike with stock bars.

My local HD dealer has a sale on handlebars this month but they have a long list of stuff I have to change in order to replace the stock handle bars with the reduced reach has anyone put the reduced reach bars on and what did you change?

Woody My Harley shop Said all hoses and wires reach. Any thing more they woould have to replace hoses and wireing..

thanks, I have it in the shop now for some warranty workand when I go get it I will pick up the bars and wire extension and try itmyself.

Recently installed the extended reach bars -- all cables and wires were fine --no extensions or replacements needed --- if the shop is saying other wise -------------try another shop

My 09 Triglide has stock handlebars....I'm 5'9" and would like to have them pulled back about 1 1/2 to 2" so I could sit a little straighter in the saddle.....do they make bent risers? I'm new at this....thanks

Yes HD makes 2" pull back reach bars. They're in the parts & acc. catalog.

Thanks Arizona, I know about those 2" HD bars but I was thinking about if there are any type of pull back risers that I could put on and keep my present bars?

Diesel

I don't think the bent risers would go inside the faring. there is little extra room inside . That is why the touring bars are built to curve back after exiting the dash area.

thanks Sloufoot,
I kinda figured that by the other forums I've been checking out. It is a tight fit in there and appreciate your answering me....
thanks again,
Diesel

Do you guys know if the 2" pullbacks from Harley 56176-08 are a bit narrower than the stock ones? Here is my question, when making a left hand turn, my right arm is extended all the way out and I have a hard time keeping the throttle even going around the corner, especially when I get on it a little. So I'm looking for a narrow bar that I could control a little bit more. Does that make sense? I feel like putting a comealong on my bars and squeezing them together about 2 inches.....lol

Those bars are 30.75 tip to tip. You can measure yours to check the difference.

Thanks again and you were right. I went out to the shop today not knowing what I was going to get into with the reduced reach handlebars. but about three hours later I have them on and did not change anything other than the bars. I am going for a ride tomorrow if I can and I will see how everything works out, thanks again glad I listened to yall and not the Harley Shop.
