New from Colorado. new to trikeing

Going crazy trying to get thru all the propaganda on all the different trike kits available. I have a 07 Harley sportster 883. unfortunately, nothing is as it was. My legs are being a problem so looks as if I will need to be putting a trike kit on. As much as I would like to go full trike with a Champion or Frankenstein, cost is a factor. So far I am leaning towards the Tow-Pac but after reading seemingly 100's of sites, I have just succeeded in totally confusing myself. Does anyone have any words of wisdom on pro's and con's of different kits. Just saw the TrippTrike and the air bag looks interesting however getting me and/or bike to Alabama just drive cost up. anyone help an old man.

Thanks in advance.

Howdy Jimmy and welcome to the forum. I know trike kits are expensive but if you want to keep riding when the body is failing you then adding another wheel is the way to go. This forum is full of people in the know so keep reading and posting.

welcome aboard Jimmy. Basically I had a tow-pac on a Burgman scooter and it did fine. If you can deal with the look of a bike with training wheels that is what is going to be said. But you do what you have to do. Money is the factor then go for it. You might also consider selling the Sportster and buying an older used trike. There was a Honda GW 1500 on here last week for less than $8k. Good luck

looking for some clarification

Thanks. but I got such a good deal on this 2007 really hate to get rid of it. it only has 1700 miles on it. not even broke in. plus, I don't expect to be doing any long distance or highway riding. just puttering back and forth to town and around the hills and valleys. I long ago stopped worrying what people where saying. They can have their opinion and i'll have mine. But I do want as good a value as I can get. Hence, my seeking all ya'lls opinion on which set of training wheels was best. every one on here seems very friendly and was hoping someone could help deciding between the tow pacs etrike and the tripp trikes. the tandem setup with air bag of the tripp trike sounds good just not sure if as good as advertised. Same with the etrike. using a receiver hitch sounds like it could rattle and not sure of the side tork on the wields. anyway, thanks greatly for all the kind words and welcoming, just what I was hoping for.

thanks jim
