New battery

I replaced the battery in my 19 Tri Glide today. I went with Deka, the manufacturer who makes the Harley batteries. Same specs same everything. I haven't had any problems with my old battery but being 6 years old and expecting to take a few trips this year I just wanted some peace of mind. And being 6 years old who knows how long it's going to last. I saved over $60 rather than going with OEM.

I purchased a NAPA auto parts store motorcycle battery last season, while I was at a TRIKE rally in Vermont. My TRIKE didn't start [in front of many Harley rider's , that was embarrassing, enough, so luck'ie one gentleman that was at the rally lent me his truck, to drive to the NAPA store approx 8 miles away, that did have a FULLY CHARGED Goldwing battery on the shelf.. I was lucky to be able to replace my old battery while sitting on my cooler in the hotel parking lot.. (so I was not stranded on the side of the road out in tim-buck-too..all alone with no cell service...........

I use Deka batteries. They’re made by East Penn, the same company that makes HD batteries. Only difference is a lower price. Also, the Deka battery comes with brass spacers for connecting cables to the front of the terminals.

I replaced the battery on my 2019 Tri Glide earlier this year. No problems, but I was getting concerned about its age. Went with Interstate Battery as we always had great luck with them when I was still working.

I’ve tried several brands over the years in my motorcycles, ATV’s, and UTV’s and the only one that lasts more than a couple years for me and has the most CCA’s are YUASA’s.

My 2019 tri glide battery is 5 years old and always on a tender. I was concerned about its capabilities so I removed it and took it to a battery shop that tests and puts a load on it.
The tech told me that the battery was strong enough to start a diesel truck.
Only reason I removed was the SIP that Harley put out about battery voltage dropping below 10.3 and causing reverse not to engage. I have had this issue but have figured out the system.
I would load check them before a swap out as well as check the charge system.
