MT Phoenix Axle Number

Recently had my '95 Wing converted with a Motor Trike "Phoenix" IRS kit. Now I need to find the "axle number" for warranty purposes. Question: Will this require me returning to the dealer and getting the bike up on the lift, or can I crawl around underneath and "hope" to locate it?

Yes, I know the dealer should "know" this number...but that's another long story.

It should be stamped on the back cover of the diff. You should be able to see it from the rear. It should also be on your paper work that you should have got when you pick it up.

here is the answer direct from the MT website

Where is the rear end number located on my trike? On solid axle shaft driven bikes, the rear end number is stamped into the TOP side of the pinion snout (above the driveshaft attachment point). On solid axle belt drive bikes, it is on the back side of the main carrier housing. Honda IRS the number is stamped into the differential support just below the rear cover. Belt driven IRS kits, the number is stamped into a plate that is attached to the center of the aluminum carrier. (This number is required for any repairs done and replacement parts.)

The paperwork has to do with that "long story" refered to above.

Thank you, champsman97045. I'll try to get my fat head under there (doesn't look like much clearance) and see if I can find it.

In order to read the number on my MT straight axle, I had to remove the right tire, hold a bright trouble light above the axle, and use a mirror to read the number.

Having a 14 year old grandson to hold the light helps.

On the Motor Trike IRS kits, it is also stamped in the lower left hand corner of the frame @ the back of the bike, just to the left of the muffler. Hope that helps also!!
