On 24 May the right rear wheel on my MT locked up. MT is sending all replacement parts to the dealer to make the repair. Something about the knuckle locking up. Has anybody else had a problem like this on their kits? Even if it is not a MT I would like to know and just what the cause was.

Scary stuff, seems the MT dealer that's doing the repair could definitely explain it in detail. Knuckle locking up? That doesn't mean much to me, maybe to someone. That is not good publicity for MT, I would think more information would be a good thing.

This is all I know at this time bikerbillone. MT was very interested in this failure and had the dealer send the entire assembly (whatever that is) to them so they could have a look. Apparently this is unprecedented for MT. Dealer said they are sending me a knew axle, bearing, cv joint, knuckle, hub and tire. I don't blame this on assembly process. Probably a bad part in the manufacturing process of one of their vendors. They are making it right. I think.

It is more than likely a wheel bearing. It is not uncommon for them to fail regardless of brand.
Make sure you replace both bearings with quality bearings like Timkin etc.
I had my leman kit have a bearing failure at under 10K miles last year. It does happen.

Good of MT to get on the case and do the right thing. It is in their best interest to determine the cause get a good fix. You're right, stuff happens.

It was the outer wheel bearing! When the hub was pulled off the bearing fell out in pieces. The inner and outer and ancilliary parts were replaced and a new tire. All is well now.*
