Motor Trike Disappointment

I finally had enough. I traded my trike for 2 wheels again. You can check my other posts for more detailed problems but suffice it to say I've been very disappointed. After over 3k miles traveled for repairs, 12 weeks down time, and about 2k miles of towing home from breakdowns, I'm done.

Although the company honored all warranty repairs it's been too much. I can't trust it and the joy is gone. I know others have had good luck but mine was not the case. I went out on a limb to purchase a new bike with this kit put on at the factory while they trained a new vendor. I can't afford to do it again so I'm back on 2 wheels. If I ever can buy another kit I will be sure it is non- proprietary and I can buy parts from an auto parts store. At least then I can have less down time and be able to fix it myself.

Rhino 2, my new ride is a 2012 Road King Classic. No complaints.

Can't explain it, :( I have friends with MTs that are happy, :) we've been extremely happy with our '98 Lehman on '97 GL 1500 .... so far parts have been OK to find. ;) Sneaking up on 100K.

Don't give up on all trikes but I fully understand the frustration. :xzqxz:

No CrystalPistol. I won't give up on all trikes. Just ones that are proprietary like MT. I may go Frankenstein and embellish it myself to look utilitarian.

Yes, if you don't have a good dealer nearby, MT pretty much has a lock on parts. Not knocking MT, but that's the reason I went with RoadSmith, having said that, nothing's perfect. Hey, had I gone through all the aggravation you did, I'd be gone too. That just ain't right.
