My girl has a VTX 1300 R with the Motor Trike conversion (used). We are going to do a brake job and would like to know if anyone can tell us what type brake shoes / pads we will need. I saw a reference on this site to a ford ranger axle, is that what they used on this???
It should be Ford Ranger or Mustang 8.8 rear end and brake shoes. How many miles are on it? I would think you would only have to adjust the slack adjust for the shoes for better braking and be done with it.

The only issue I had in 40k miles so far is the cable inside the drum assembly one brake broke but it was a $15 repair using a Autozone brake kit

If the drum pull off easy check your shoes for any issues but all you should have to do is turn the slack adjuster out enough to make it snug pushing the drum back on

I just directed him to a thread that is already clearly posted here. It has a link to a PDF service manual for Motor Trike that can be printed off or read on the computer. Here is the link to that thread: http://www.triketalk.com/forum/honda...-finished.html
