Midnight star custom trike

Hello everyone, I just joined this forum and thought I would share some pictures of my trike that I have been working on for a few years now. When I started this project there was no one making a kit for the roadstar, so I had to have one custom made. Hopefully this is the year that I get to ride it. I had problems when I first put it together with the front end wobbling back and forth at low speeds.I went through the entire front end checked head bearings fork tubes, wheel bearings, new front tire, Custon front wheel, still the same problem.

I was told it was a rake-trail issue so I sent the triple trees to pete at steerite and he put 4 1/2 degrees of rake in them and sent them back to me. I put everthing back together and now I figure that because the bike had sat so long before I had sent the trees off to be done that this is the reason that I believe the clutch plates are now stuck together. Bummer. When the temps come up a little,(no heat in my garage) I plan on taking the clutch apart and putting new friction plates in. HAS ANYONE HERE EVER DONE THIS, FOR I HAVE NOT, ANT INSIGHT WILL BE APPRECIATED. Here you go I hope you Dig it. moonshiner

Thanks for the compliments, I hope to be riding it this year. I will try to take some more pictures for you to look at. I am utilizing the original suspension, I do have a tricky air ride shock to replace the original shock. The swing arm was custom made using 1 x 2 thick wall tubing. I am working on the bracketts to mount the fenders and I still have to figure out the tail lights. Thanks for the support. moonshiner

I have un stuck my plates with out removing them . With the bike ignition off Rock it back and forth with the clutch pulled in 5th gear.

Moonshiner go to Road Star Clinic - Home there is a lot of roadstar gearheads there that can help. I have an 03 Roadstar I am thinking about puting a trike kit on for the wife. Since I got my Goldwing/Leahman trike and the wife got her bike certification she wants one of her own. Been trying to sell it for over a year but no one has any money with the way things are right now. Good looking trike, hope you get the problem fixed and get out in the wind. Jay A.

I like that look better than when they leave the rear fender on it . where is the tail light , brake light, turn sig. and marker plate located. Do u have a rear view picture ?
