Lost my son

Fellow trikers--on July 7th, in Chesapeake, VA., our son was riding his Harley with girlfriend on back when a DUI in an SUV turned in front of him, causing both of them to be thrown from the bike. They were less than a mile from home. We have been dealing with the memorial service, and trying to help his adult children with estate stuff.

Due to my night-owl ways, I got the phone call and had to break the news to my husband that his son and first-born was dead. Not a task I wish for anyone. My husband was in no condition to travel, so we watched the webcast of the funeral service. Son Scott was a Navy SeaBee, and a member of the Sons of Neptune chapter of Salty Dogs, (where he was known as "Hollywood") in the Chesapeake, VA area.

He leaves behind three adult children, six grandchildren, and his father. His mother preceded him in death two years ago. Scott was 53. I know we're relatively new here, but we sure could use your thoughts and prayers as his kids deal with the aftermath and probable future court proceedings for both estate and the DUI.

With a heavy heart, thanks for reading.

So very sorry to hear/read this!

My best friend lost his son also in a car accident, last month!

My prayers go out to you .............

Wow, thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and condolences. We are overwhelmed by the responses. The funeral service has been held and we were able to watch it via webcast. Hopefully we can get a copy of it and the slide show for keepsakes. There is much to be done with both the estate and the criminal charge(s)/investigation. We're trying not to bug the investigating officer too much, but it's hard.

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers and thoughts. We are very grateful.
