I am about 5-7 and run the stock GL1800 windshield in highest setting. I am looking through it, but if I stretch up I can look over. I like looking through other than foggy situations. As for the vent, probably not get another one. After a few miles they don't want to open easy and if you do the ream the ball bearing hole it seems to open when hit hard bumps. It also leaks water all over the dash whan it rains. I don't usually have it open anyway. bigred06

Looks like it's been a few weeks since I began this "research project" and yesterday I made the decision to buy a windshield I should be able to look through as well as one that reduces a lot of wind turbulence. This decision was made easier with advice from experienced riders on this site, to whom I am grateful.<br />

My purchase was for a Rifle Classic SS windshield and lowers for the Valkyrie. The shield is clear, 21" in height and 28" at the widest point. I understand they should arrive in 2 weeks. Just in time for great spring time weather we normally have in southeast Louisiana.<br />

PS. Based on this project, it was interesting to learn that a lot of riders are using "Lemon Pledge" to clean their windshields. <i>"Amazing what you can learn from this site!"</i>

I love to look through my windshield. I also like to have the wind blowing on my face so I have a vent in my windshield. I had a Tulsa on my last 2 wheel, but felt closed in and was constantly hitting my head on it getting on and off of the bike. I don't think any of us can tell you what would work for you, but take all of our information and make your own decision. I'm sure that you will get used to whatever you choose.

Jagjeep, I bet you'll be satisfied with your choice. I forgot to mention, I have the Rifle fork lowers on my Valk also. I did add the baker airwings, more for help in the colder weather to keep the heat closer. <img src="images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" />

BTW, the screen is, after this mileage, not buggered a bit. I've taken a few good rock hits and have been unscathed. The design moves the air away from the cabin area quite nicely, and reduces pilon buffeting as well.. I like it a LOT.</div>

</div>Been looking for a post on the V-Stream with the Saeng edging since I run the V-Stream, so this post is good. I've been hesitant to dive into the Saeng since it is rather expensive not knowing the end result. I'd appreciate a bit more protection from the rain as the V-Stream has a pronounced rake. A bit more protection for the passenger would be helpful as well.

Not sure I can accomplish that with the Saeng, I like the V-Steam, don't want to dump it in favor of another shield.<br />

By the way, did you run Saeng edging all the way around on the V-Stream, or just part way?

I popped off a dream figure, damned if he didn't bring the cash the next day. I guess it was for the good, the wife doesn't really understand having several different bikes. LOL<br /><br />

I bought the trike from an older couple three years ago, the price was right (it needed some work) and it was a low mileage Valk! I have been battling RA for many years, & worried about getting far from home & having some joint blow out, usually lower body, knees hips or ankles. The trike was the my answer, I could still ride it home. And the performance seems to be reduced only a little with the MT kit. For additional comfort, I bought the complete Ultimate seat package, and after figuring out my sweet spot with the suspension, I can ride 5-600 mile days with no problems. Good for me since my Dad lives near Lubbock, 550 miles, I can do the trip easily.<br />

The Valk has been rock solid dependable.

As with all carburated bikes, keep some Startron or Stable in the fuel if it sits for any time, 6 carbs are a pain to clean. <br /><br />

Any trip, and most local riding I use the trike, still have a little Shadow 1100 for the times I want to 2whl around local. I've ridden since '67, the trike keeps me on the road, takes the worry out of longer trips which I love.

I love Valks too. This is my second but first trike conversion. I've only taken it out for short runs since it needs a better windshield for reducing wind turbulence, etc. but since I've ordered a replacement I plan to take it on longer trips this spring.<br /><br />
<br /><br />
My only issue with this Valkyrie is that it seems to have a bit more gear noise than my first one. In reading other forums, some riders have reduced the noise by switching to synthetic oil. Have you experienced gear noise problems?<br /><br />
