I guess I am old school...I have a couple of books by William Murphy, which cover Michigan and Ohio, and Dale Conyer's book for the Appalachians. These are my most frequent riding areas. There are books for other areas by many authors, as well. The books provide some great day rides, overnights, and even short rides on a level that only a local can provide. I use them all the time for trips.

Thanks for posting it! Another to add to my favorites. Hubby and I are always looking for new destinations and weekend getaways here in Wisconsin! We did the Mindoro cut, it was beautiful and fun. Now on to more fun rides, here, and in other states!!

Since we started riding a few years back I think we have hit almost every road in Southeast Missouri (at least in the hill area). I'm lucky I ride with some guys who know all the roads and when it comes down to it we just take the road that looks like it needs to riden. When we take long trips we look at these sites to help plan out what we do. It's great to have several sites like these to choose from when planning trips.

I know what you mean Ed. My daily rides around here are planned intersection by intersection. :laugh: It's great to make a 150 - 200 mile burger run. One morning I took off at 8:00 or so to go to my favorite donut shop about 15 miles from the house. I had a 10:00 doctor's appointment about 5 miles from home. I was 30 minutes late.
