Linked brake system

Can anyone tell me how the linked brake system is disabled on a Goldwing when the bike is triked? Roadsmith tells me that the 2003 bike I have that was triked in 2004 is not linked but did not go into detail. The out of state dealer I bought it from tells me It is not linked also. Again no detail. I need to know so my local Mechanic who is not a trike mechanic but a Bike mechanic and is learning about trikes understands it. I don't know why it such a big secret.
