Hi all

I have a 2003 GL1800 (Hot Rod Yellow) with a Champion Kit. Currently have the clear vinyl protectors on the fenders. What I am looking for are protectors in leather to dress it up a bit.

Anyone have a source for these?

Thanks in advance

Bill

Don't mean to hi-jack this thread, but I called a GW parts place, and was told that they don't carry them. The reason I was given was that the trike kit manufacturers don't recommend drilling holes in the fenders to install them. Anyone had or having problems with the fenders cracking because of the holes? Also anyone that has had them made have any pictures they can post? Would really appreciate it. Thanks

I have owned two Goldwings with Motortrike kits and both of them came with the fender bras made and installed by the factory. I don't know about the other kits but if you look at Motortrike kits you almost always see them with bras. They now offer bras for the aqua shields (I am going to get me some of them). I have never seen a fender crack because of the bra installation.

At one time I thought I wanted them but read too many posts of people complaining about grit getting under the leather then wind action on the leather wearing the paint . I've got the same 3M protectors and plan on replacing them in a year or so.

No holes. Mine are on with Velcro

I wish somebody out there could make them in stainless or chrome for each manufacturers trike kits. I live in Florida and the vinyl ones are a disaster there as when they get wet , if you forget to remove them right away they will start to get moldy. they do the job they are supposed to but to me they look like crap, especially the factory ones from Harley as I would not put something that big and ugly on my trike

I have a GW with a MotorTrike kit that had the fender bras on it when I bought it. I called MT and got the bras for the aqua shields....there was no template for drilling the holes in the fender/aquashield for the male side of the snaps but it all worked out fine. I drilled the holes and screwed in the snaps with no apparent effect on the fiberglass.

The paint on that MotorTrike kit is so soft I would be scared what the fenders would look like if I didn't have them installed.

I do take the bras off when I wash it, or after I've run in a heavy rain.

Purchased mine from CSC Trikes and installed them myself. They come with the snaps and the pop rivets to install the snaps. Take them off after rain and clean underneath them to keep the paint good. Simple but the CSC bras are expensive but couldn't find anyone in the area to make them for me. I like mine.
