Late nighters---unite!!!

FCI Ashland, KY. I'm just a correctional officer. Our nickname for the position is 'hack'. I've been on morning watch (midnights) since December of '06. I did work evening shift for one quarter back in '08. I do that for family obligations.

You worked for Metro-Dade? Did you ever work with Horatio? :D

No I don't recognize the name. However we were over 3,500 sworn deputies alone, not including civilian personnel. Spread out over the county larger than the state of Rhode Island. Maybe we can meet someday. Especially since the surrounding area where I now live has some of the best riding in the country. I could be the ride coordinator for an event if such should ever be suggested.

I think Scott, and I know I was joking, referring to CSI:Miami.

On another topic, I had an uncle who lived in Cookeville, TN. He was an auxiliary deputy for the Putnam Co. sheriff's office there. In his last years, he was a bailiff at the court house.

However I did appear in several Miami Vice episodes in the '80's!

Yes I was referring to one and the same. I would've rather worked with Callie. ThumbUp

That would be great if I could find someone to take care of my children for the amount of time required. That is one big honkin' department!

Was Don Johnson a nice guy? More importantly, did you ever get to meet Commander Adama (Edward James Olmos)?

With regard to Don Johnson, he as an A/H. All of the rest of the cast were down to earth, even Philip Michael Thomas. But the coolest were the two guys, Diehl and the other guy. I really got to meet some big shots, including Phil Collins, Bianca Jagger, Ted Nugent. I was in the show with Ted Nugent. I was one of the deputies that landed in a helicopter on the beach to arrest Nugents girlfriend and take her away. She was a cute French actress.

If you ever want to see that episode I think its season 2, the first or second show.

I didn't know they used actual deputies for the show. That's great support for the locals. And yes I figured DJ was an AH.

Yeah we were used as extras. I was a good friend of the Sergeant that was the Technical Advisor. So I was in a lot of shows. But the Nugent one was my big debut. Most of the others only I know where to look for me. It's a flash and I am gone.

Go to this short You Tube Link to see me in action. When the helicopter lands, I am the one on the right side of the chopper (closest to the ocean). And when we return to the chopper, I am reading her her rights. Originally I was supposed to be left in, but they didn't want to pay me for the speaking part and dubbed it over. Bummer!

Yeah, but that's cool, regardless. You can say that you were on a major TV show in 'multiple guest shots'. You don't have to elaborate. ThumbUp

If you got to meet Nugent, I'm betting he was a good guy. He seems to be, especially these days.

Well these days I just try to remain incognito. I am also a member of our local Blue Knights Chapter. I am the VP. Somehow I got talked into extra duty, but it pays triple @ $0.00 an hour. I think I am going to hit the sack. I have to get with the dealer to work on the final items with the paint and build of my trike. Talk to again very soon.

I was in our local Blue Knights chapter for 9 years. Finally, I quit because I just couldn't participate in any of the events or go to the meetings due to work schedule, and caring for my special needs children. Bummer, but it is what it is.

Good night, and I'll see you tomorrow night maybe. That would be my Friday. ThumbUp

Had trouble sleeping, so I thought I would see who is up also. Haven't been on lately. Scott, with all your gun purchases I got the bug and picked up a new CC. Went with the Sig P238, 380 nice little gun for conceal no footprint.

Bill, My wife and I also got married when we were 19. We met at Shoney's , in Portsmouth in June of "68 and got married in August of "68. Because of the draft the first 3 years we only lived together 6 months. I don't know how she has put up with me all these years.

I'm still here. I've looked at that model Sig. Nice little weapon. Kind of the Cadillac of the .380s. Looking at a DuraCoated glock 21 now. Dark blue slide and lighter denim frame. If I can get it at the right price, it's mine.

I've already had my IWB holster converted from glock 22 just for it. We'll see at tax time.

That sounds like a good idea, I have never cared much for the Glock, not sure why. No return for me this year, I get to pay uncle a little more . I use a OWB holster, never tried IWB, just didn't look comfortable. A fella I work with has a Glock and he uses the IWB holster from Alien, and he really likes the design and wear.

Mine is a hybrid--horsehide and kydex. The horsehide of course, goes against the body, and after a few minutes, I can't even tell it's there. I wear it at around 4 oclock, and where I'm a little fluffy, even full size guns like my kimber and a glock, just disappear (unless I bend over a little too far, and I'm always careful about that).

Here's a link to the guy's site that I buy from...

I have to work tonight, got some snow and freezing rain coming in today, not crazy about going out in that. Hopefully it won't be to bad. It will be a lot worse on the Marines I am supporting then it will me, but they are a few years younger then me and it will build character.

We've already got 6 inches of snow on the ground that fell in the evening hours last night. I built some character having to go out and sweep off my truck. Then the roads hadn't been touched, so the driving was WAY less than desirable. Even with my 4WD, I slid quite a lot. Went to turn into a gas station, and it wanted to keep going straight. And no, I didn't have the brakes pushed down. I ended up keeping the wheel turned where I wanted to go, and gunned the gas. It worked.

Good morning, 1* here with 2" coming around 3pm. Got to recover the wood pile again after the cold front blew it off. Seems like a weekly thing lately. To warm up with rain on Tuesday, What a mess here. :gah:

The rain is supposed to start here this afternoon with temp in the 40s. Then tonight changing back to snow with temps in the 20s.

I feel your pain.

One of the 2 previous owners of my glide, used the aluminum wheel cleaner spray on the front wheel. I guess they let it dry rather than rinse it off b4 the fact. Needless to say it's a stained mess. As I did on the rears, gona remove it and scuff all the non painted part except for the outer rim and paint it black to match the rears. Then at least I can use the bottle brush to clean it.That should pass some time.

Mine looks like tee-total crap and I haven't used any aluminum cleaner. I've scrubbed it with soap and water to no avail. I guess something a little more aggressive is in order.

I am into the wash/wipe dry mode. Detail once a year. Ain't got time or patience to polish aluminum.

Hi Steve. I am now. I generally get here around 11:30, at 12:01 we count. Then after count, I get on the computer to start my log, then check in here. Thus my day begins.

That's me. I like the look of the aluminum. I'll clean it up once, clear coat it, then it's wash and wipe dry.

I said clear coat, but what meant was the rattle can polyurethane stuff. Kinda the same thing only different.
