What year is your triglide?
I'll have to think for something.

Just now saw this post--it's a '15. Just went out of date.

Which shield did ya get?
I'm adding a fairing later on so I can use my lrs flat top shield. Best shield I have ever used.
I had it on my cvo street glide.
I should have kept it and not traded.
We like the free but it is no where as comfortable. I'm rather disappointed in the free as far as comfort. We rode the GW roadsmith to Cherokee and we were comfortable the whole trip. 452 miles. 200 miles was none stop. Road the free to Savvana. 200 miles in a day. I was hurting by the time I got home. Its a short ride trike from now on.

I'm pretty comfortable on the TG--at least so far. Longest non stop ride for me has been only about 80 miles so far. But I think that's a pretty decent indicator.

I got the ultra elite shield.

There isn't as much room for the passenger as the bigger bikes have, including the triglide. I will make another back rest mount that will help. Funny thing is I have the touring seat that was on the street glide. That's weird. For my legs its great for comfort. Nothing has been as comfortable as my 07 ultra was but the cvo was very close.

I got a couple of Dyba bikes but both has forwards which kill me. Lots of pain. Got some mids for it, now i can ride all day if I want. Their light so i can handle them without to much problems. Besides it's fast and fun to ride.

Sorry I haven't been around the last few days. I've been filling out a computerized application for a promotion here at work. I'm not a very good computer type person, and it's been a real struggle learning how to move documents that are on one website to the computer here at work. Then, I had to upload the documents to the website where I'm doing the application.
I think I've finally got it all done correctly. At least I hope.:gah:

For me, the further forward the controls are, the more comfortable I am. On the Night Train I had, I put the extended forward controls on it. Looking back, that was several hundred wasted dollars.

Pulling the camper to Myrtle Beach for a 5 day stay starting Sunday. Our campsite is only 22 feet from the beach. This is our first ocean front accommodation of any type in several years. Looking forward to it.

I have only stayed on a beach front in 50 years.
We rode my super glide for 2 days with no pain. Now i got to find a inner and outer primary for the wide glide. Im short withh knee problems. Can't have my left leg straight. I only have 40% movement in it. Won't bend very much at all. I have not been able to run since i got wounded in 1969.
This week i got to replace the front engine mount on the super glide. The Dyna bikes eat motor mounts for some reason. Then change exhaust, i have em, then i am rebuilding the front forks. Its all easy enough, just takes some time.

Do I take this as you've only stayed beach front in the last 50 years? Or that you HAVEN'T stayed beach front in 50 years?

Sorry to hear about your leg. I knew you had some Service related disability, but I didn't know it was that bad. I was 2 years old when you got injured. I'm guessing you were only about 18 or 19.

That's way too young to put a (yeah, I'm gonna say it)...KID through that kind of stuff. Both my unlces with to Vietnam right out of high school. The oldest one went over in about 63, but he was in the Air Force, so he didn't see much, if any combat. The younger one went in 65, but he was in the army. He saw 2 years worth of combat. He won't talk about it much, except to say he was there. I think his only injury was in his head, what they call PTSD now. He would work 16 hour days 6 to 7 days a week to keep his mind on other things. He said at home his thinking would wander a little too much.

He kept that up for about 15 years, until he just physically wore himself out. After that, he 'only' about 60 hours a week. He worked at an oil refinery for a company called Ashland Oil. They eventually sold out to Marathon.

The oldest brother worked there too. He just retired 2 years ago at the age of 77. His vocation was something they couldn't find anybody else to fill, so they asked him to keep working. He, of course had them over a barrel and took advantage of it. After 65, he made more money in base salary than anybody in the refinery--even the superintendent. Oh, forgot to mention--he worked on their radios and any other communications systems within the refinery. Even though he worked mostly of 2 way radios, his nickname was 'Phone Man', because he worked on phones there too. Right before he retired, he did a major upgrade on the internal phone system, so it would last them for several years. To my knowledge, they haven't been able to find anybody to take his place. They contract out the repairs now. Awhile back he told me that the contractors will still call and ask him questions. He get consulting fees for that.

Sould have worded it better. It has been 50 years since I have stayed on a beach.
I know how staying busy is. That is why I still have a personal shop so I can stay busy. Long trips on the bike are my best solution if you want to call it that. I usually do not talk about my service but I will mention my wounds.
If you really knew what I went through, battle wounds that is, You wouldn't believe it. I have give my testimony at churches at times, by request only.
Over all I was shot 4 times, scrapnel from 2 B 40 rockets, stabed in the thigh, and fragments from a hand gernade all within 4 hours.

Wow. That's what I call a bad day.

Glad you're having good ones now. I know you aren't looking for this, but I'm going to say it anyway--Thank you for your service.

Well, The Dobber must have went to bed with the chickens (at least for him). He was one post and out.

Myself, I was ready to chat ALL NIGHT LONG. C'est la vie.

We went to bed around midnight. Got there 20 minutes early. We went to see my brother in law. Haven't seen him in almost 2 years now.
it was kinda sudden. He is doing good.
Been riding the super glide last couple of days. Man, it felt good to ride and not hurt. I really like riding it, light, very quick, and tons of enjoyment.
I think I like it so much because of it's torque. No matter your speed or gear your in all you have to do to pass is roll on the throttle a little, not much just a little.

I have the roadking handle bars on it. They are a little wider than stock and more straight for better control when I let it lose, which is rare now.
Just hitting the gears and riding normal is what I like now. I do play when I am solo at times. No body will run wit me any more when I am on it. They like to play but I hurt their feelings.

I had an '09 Night Train. It had lot of torque like that. Yours is a good looking bike!

Glad you had a good trip!

Had to get up and go early again today. Had a Doc appointment in Chattanooga at 8 am my time. Centeral time, eastern time starts 15 miles from me

Sometimes I get so bored I Just start on something no matter what it is.
Last year before I purchased a trike I built one using the Mystery designs IRS fender kit.
It was so simple to do I put it in 2 wheel form to 3 at times Just so I can do something.

That is a Generic single wheel trailer that I thought was a IN-Line trailer. Had to make a few adjustments but now it is like it isn't there. Very light, under 100 lbs, cargo weight is also 100 lbs. I can't see it unless in a turn so I took a cb antenna to use as a marker so I can see it.

Going hard all my life and then being retired can really get to you. I have to stay busy.
