Late nighters---unite!!!

And in the private sector if you're a warm body and can pass the physical, you're in ! Age be damned. Go figure ...........

Exactly right. They are intelligent enough to hire the older people because, for the most part, they know that their work ethic is much higher than today's generation. People in their 60s and 70s won't think about taking sick days unless they are sick or have a pre-scheduled doctor appointment. Younger folk will take the day off to ride their bikes or go fishing.

Just guessing, but they probably get away with it because no one has filed an age discrimination suit.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe once a suit is filed, the gov't hurries and settles with any that do so it won't be an issue. If they paid me 2 years worth of salary to shut up, I probably would.

You might simply need to contact a federal fair employment agency and get it accomplished.

Surely to GOD somebody has already tried that.... But you think that somebody would. Either people are just ready to go at that age, or they don't believe they can beat it anyhow.

Possibly for both reasons you stated. I"m not one that assumes somebody has already tried, a good chance that no one has and even operating federally in a state you might even question the state fair employment agency and see what they have to say about the situation. It is all worth a shot if you choose to continue working. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

I'll see how I feel in 8 years, but if it's like it is now, I wouldn't mind working until I'm 62. Every year I could work would add an extra percent to my retirement.

A lot of variables to consider when it comes to retirement. It's a pretty important decision. :vxtyaq:

See ya tomorrow. I'm putting myself on the list for OT. The union won their fight against augmenting non-custody staff to custody posts, so it will be easy to get again. At least until they hire a bunch of bodies to cover the posts.

Retirement isn't what it's cracked up to be. I'm more busy now than before retirement. But I'm a self starter. Some people get bored. I see things they need to be taken care of and just do it providing I have the money. And money is the true problem in retirement. Fortunately I'm getting some supplemental funds from years of stock investments. But even that is starting to take a toll. Seems most investments in the USA have moved to foreign stocks and I was fighting that and only wanting to invest in America. There isn't much of America left sadly.

Money is my big worry in retiring early. I can only hope that my thrift plan will give me enough money to last me and my wife through our retirement years. That's why I want to work longer. The longer I work, the more I can draw.

You would most likely find yourself assigned to details/shifts that suck hind tit. Are there such at a federal lockup ?

There are ways around that too if they decide such.
Been with them 13 years and haven't seen it yet. The only way we really get screwed is when we get a quarter of sick and annual fill in. Then you only get your schedule two weeks in advance and they don't have to go by seniority for that. But that's only 13 weeks every 2-3 years.

Our union is fairly strong.

It is a good bet that in eight years there will be no unions. That isn't the only thing that could be nonexistent. :AGGHH:

Ordered a holster for my pistol on March 15th and finally got it in the mail today. It was worth the wait, because unless something goes drastically different than it is right now, it's the most comfortable IWB holster I've ever worn. It was expensive ($80), but it seems as if it's going to be the real deal. Below is a long video I made trying it on with several different types of clothing. It's made longer because in the middle, my daughter Raeden came into the kitchen and wouldn't leave. I got all kinds of hugs and kisses, but just decided to leave it in the video. Bare with the goofiness.

Excellent reviews

They have had excellent reviews. I like the way it can be adjusted along with that if I change pistols, I only need to change out the shell.

Comfort, accessibility, concealment, retention, and draw stroke are all considerations for me when purchasing a holster. All five are paramount in my decision. I never recommend a particular holster to anyone, because all of us are different in likes and dislike as well as fitting. Monetary value is never a consideration of mine.

I'm adding a little extra to my previous video with a closer up look at the holster. I'm giving some of my initial impressions both positive and negative. I won't recommend it to be bought, just give my impressions. So far, it's very comfortable. But comfort isn't everything. For some reason or other, these vids are publishing to YouTube a little bit fuzzy. They look a whole heck of a lot better when I see them on my iPad. Sorry, I'm new at all this.

I noticed the sound varied considerably. Not sure which movement is the cause. Distance or head turning. I don't think it is the Ipad.

You might find this interesting as well as a solution.
