Kawasaki Nomad & Hannigan Kit Question

Does anyone here have a Kawasaki Nomad 1600 with the Hannigan kit? I have a 2008 I was setting up for touring when I got vertigo and was told I shouldn't be on 2 wheels. I got a 2010 wing with a champion IRS but I still want the Nomad. I'm thinking of the Hannigan and want to know what others think of them. I wish there were other options but it must not be a popular enough bike for kit builders.

I have a batwing style fairing and harley lowers I customized to fit the Nomad and painted them to match the red/black of the bike. I have also added a Scootworks trunk but haven't gotten that painted yet.

I haven't ridden a trike with a Hannigan kit, but I've never heard a negative about them. In fact, those that have them seem to love them. Keep us posted on what you do.

I have an 08 Nomad myself and I have a Hannigan kit on order.

It should be completed around the middle of April.

If you haven't pulled the trigger by then, I'll be happy to give you my opinion.

:)

Update: Despite being told by John Lee that the mold had been started in May and would be done in June, they apparently haven't even started yet. The most recent update is that MAYBE the kit will be done in September.

VERY frustrating and disappointing.

I had heard such good things about Hannigan.

Sorry to hear that, Dan. Have they said if this is because of the building that burned down? Just curious, as I think a number of the molds were destroyed at that time????

Yes, the molds were apparently destroyed.

The Gold Wings and the Harleys are more popular than the Kawasaki Nomads, so guess who they are focusing on?

:-(

Another update:

I placed my order in February with an ETA in April. Of course, they had the fire that burned the molds.

They told me the replacement mold had been started in May and would be done in 3-4 weeks. That turned out not to be true.

In July, they told me again that the mold had been started and might be completed by September. Today, they admitted that was not true either.

After them stringing me along for five months, I finally cancelled the order.

I don't blame them for the fire, but they should have had the balls to say to me up front that Kawasaki Nomads were not a priority and the mold wouldn't be replaced anytime soon.

Hannigan may make a good product, but I can't say much for how they treat their customers (or at least this one) or for their integrity.

They had to do a lot of custom work but Hannigan made a conversion kit for my 1600 Classic two years ago and I love it. Be careful of who you get to do the putting it together for you if you don't do it yourself though. Some do some pretty shoddy work but I won't name him on the form. But brother and I had to correct a lot of his mistakes.

i have a 2006 with hannigan kit old mold over all good unit passenger foot rest angled in or narrow at the front.so toes turned rather that
strate or slite turn out
