JUST KNIVES

Nice find Randall! Good looking knives!

Why thank you Doug! :)

Nice find. I've never seen a Russlock in person. Waiting to get you impression. I'm a fan of lock backs.

If I can find it on the computer, I'll post a pic of my Case Jack knife. I bet you didn't get the Kabar for $3.50. :)

Thanks Bill...

Yeah, don't I wish lol, just add 16.50 to that plus shipping ... still not a bad deal. The Queen was $25, which was a steal for the age of knife and condition of knife. :clapping:

Looking forward to getting that Russlock, it's an older Sheppard Hill limited edition

These are from "The Collection". The Copperlock was from the first batch and the other two were from the second batch (same time you got yours).

By the way, the Jack was $37.50.

There are two of the same vintage on eBay now for $175 to $249. I didn't do too bad either. :D

You've done good Bill...real good! :D

Sure are purdy!

This knife thing is good. I did pick up 2 knives for me, one for the brother in law, one for the son in law, one for the future in law. Pictures to follow. Still have not found the buck knives, maybe soon.

Buck knives you own and can't find, or a type you're wanting to buy?

Wow, I had to search for this thread, seems like it's been a little while...

Come on Jim, I know that there's a few that you want to show us :D

Bill??? ....

Well with my day off and the majority of my honey do's done, my attention turned to my treasures...

So I wanted to give you my first impression of the Russlock. With the unique opening lever I found it challenging to open it one handed. I thought to myself, what's the trick... and turned to YouTube for the how to. After some practice I can do it, but found my own way after trial and error.

It's a beautiful knife and a really nice addition to the stash. Here are the pictures out if the mail. I've got to polish the engraved bolsters, other than that it's ready to go.

My other father's day gift will be a show box for all the bargain knives I've picked up over the last month from Ebay. Michele is tired of seeing them lined up on my dresser, and they do get dusty from being out in the open. Found a cheap one on Amazon, and it's on the way.

Nice Case knife Randall. Never saw one of those.

Thank you Doug!...neither had I until I was looking at the Sodbuster's one night after Jim posted his. I came across this one and it's lever open caught my eye.

Very nice Randall.

Thanks Scott! I really like it, and love the look of engraved bolsters :)

Damn, that's nice. I love the color and the engraving.

I know you said it was a limited edition, but I don't remember for what. Is it really practical or just novel?

Looks like a liner lock. It wouldn't be good for a lefty. Wouldn't you have to use the right thumb for a one hand close?

Thank you Bill, it's a 2013 limited edition (#28 of 100 ) production run, antique jigged Brazilian cattle bone with etched bolsters.

Is it practical? ....probably not, it's definitely not a southpaw knife. More like a love it or hate it deal

The lever protrudes when closed so it looks neat but not pocket friendly I suppose as for an EDC.

Yes, the liner lock is a challenge when closing with one hand, therefore I use two and it works out for me. The thumb is a little sore from the pressure needed to close, but it's a new knife, with use I'm sure it would be a little easier.

Just a neat knife to play with... (Nod)

Nice looking knife but I'm not a fan of that kind of opener though. Guess you got to take the good with the bad.

Thanks, that's for sure... it's a good looking knife, just not for everyone though

Still getting used to the opening of it, hate to have to open in a hurry if a bobcat was getting ready to pounce :AGGHH:

Home from work now, a parcel arrived today so I did some therapeutic knife cleaning to unwind from my day.

This was one of two knives picked up together as a bundled deal. The other is not worth saving and is in the trash due to out gassing...but this one was well worth the rescue!

An early 40's Camillus Sword brand jack knife. It's got some blade loss as to be expected from a knife this old. But the look of the pocket worn bone scales is what got me :)

You guys.... If I had known these old knives would be collectibles one day I would have snatched up every one I saw at my grandfather’s old farm, my daddy’s house, the old mechanic’s shop, the airplane hangar, the old hardware store displays.... they were scattered all about - in drawers, tackleboxes, toolboxes, backside of old workbenches...gheesh.... had no clue. So many of these old knives look so familiar from those places and times... 😢

While I may not have a collectable knife, I do have one that would make someone :Crap: them self. Frost Cutlery makes it and Walmart sells it.

They don't have to be collectable. Anything sharp & pointy is good here.

That thing is BAAAD. :clapping:

Don't let Kaden see that, or Randall will have to GET it for his birthday.
