I’ve been considering a pair of the JES fork mount wind deflectors. For those of you running these particular “fangs” on your Freewheelers, please comment. Do they provide an acceptable amount of wind reduction (the uplift at your chest/facial area)? Do you feel that engine heat is substantially increased? Also I’ve seen pictures, but how do you feel about the looks? Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I have a Memphis Shades Batwing. Without the fangs, air came up onto me and was annoying. I put them on and it simply went away. Quality, looks, and functionality are superb. Can't really say about the engine temp, but I am just simply not going to worry about it. Ken

My deflectors are on the way. Maybe I should wait for them before asking a dumb question, but here goes. From pictures I’ve seen, they would look a little better if they were closer to the forks. Have any of you mounted them

before (or inside) the windshield grommets?

Would the windshield even mount that way?

Alright, I’ve answered my own questions. They only mount the way they’re designed to and look just fine.

Stormy weather in central Texas today so my test ride is postponed for now.

I only went for a short ride, but dang what difference! Long rides will be much more enjoyable. I got black deflectors and they don’t look bad at all. They sort of blend in. Thanks for all the helpful answers and comments.

We took ours for a little ride last week. About 200 miles. It really makes it more enjoyable. This was the first little excursion since I put a new cam chest in it. I used the S&S 465 cam with lifters and pushrods and their latest oil pump. What a difference. More power and less wind. I will put lots of miles on this one this year. Ken
