I just don't love the way these look. But I guess if they work.

I have finally gotten well and gotten my new clearview shield installed, now if weather and work would give me time to test it. I did ride about 3 miles in the rain Saturday with the new shield. Seemed to work ok, but was a little wet and cold to really focus on how well it really did work. 40s isn't bad but 40s and rain sucks for this FL boy.

That sucks in Michigan too!

I still haven't had a chance to try the new Clearview windshield without the soft lowers as temps here in Virginia seem great when I am working and go back to winter when I am off. I was still getting some buffeting even with the new windshield so you will have to tell me if it is better without the soft lowers on.

As soon as I can get out without the lowers myself I will. It has been pretty cool here the last week or so and will be through the weekend. Not what you guys go through north of me but highs in the low 50s are chilly :D. I am looking into getting some chaps, Dress pants in the morning on the way to work do not cut i:pepper:t

Just received mine yesterday and no they ain't the purdiest looking things, but like you said if they work as well as I hope them to I can live with them. Might get them painted with some pin stripping or something to dress them up.

I my received bare metal wind deflectors from JESCustomAccents today...had to try them...........WOW!!!!!!!! What a difference!

I've made a few other changes such as a DK tank lift and a oversized CLearview windshield and I have probably eliminated conservatively removed 85% of the buffeting fw2.JPG

Psychogramps posted earlier,he had a prototype set and over a period of 1800 miles he took numerous oil and head temp readings and saw no difference with them on or off....I also raised the front of my tank with a DK Industries kit which allows more airflow over the rear cylinder...........

I had a set of fangs on my 2000 Road King and I left them on winter and summer. Some of my friends took theirs off in the summer but I never noticed any issues with excessive heat on the engine by leaving mine on year around. Also, I don't see much difference in having fangs versus a full dresser with fairing and lowers as far as restricting air flow to the engine. I left my lowers on year around on my 2005 Electraglide Classic CVO.

Lots of places have been selling fangs for H-D motorcycles, included H-D,for many years. If it caused a significant cooling problem,I think we would know about it by now.

Bought them yesterday

I placed my order yesterday and they were shipped today. I hope to have them by this Friday. Can't wait to try them out. They look pretty easy to install. Is there anything I should look out for while installing them?

They are very easy to install, just follow the directions that come with them. Took me about 15 minutes from the time I opened the package. I consider them to be one of the best accessories I have added to my FW. I estimate that they cut out about 80% to 85% of the wind that was hitting me in the face even though I had a tank lift kit and a tall windshield.

Thanks Sunman, I appreciate the info.

Got mine yesterday and had them installed within 20 minutes of receiving them. Had to take a short ride and test them out. They accomplished everything I expected. One of the best investments I have made for my Free.
