A guy took a test ride on a brand new 2013 Anniversary Limited. The route is only about 5 miles long. He kept dropping back while on the road, as in only occasionally got up to 35 MPH, and at every single stop light or stop sign, it took him forever to get going. Within 500 feet of the dealership's driveway, he got stuck in the middle of the road because the bike wouldn't move. We tried and the clutch seemed to have stopped working. The dealership picked it up in a trailer, and they originally thought the clutch cable broke, or some other minor adjustment was needed. When they took the primary cover off, the clutch was destroyed - smoking, black and toasted!!! They figured he got the bike into 3rd gear and never shifted again.
This would explain his problems at stops, but I was surprised that much damage was done in such a short distance and only 6 stops. Is it really possible to do that much damage in such a short distance? Wonder what else might have been affected by this?
