Is Anyone Riding?

Yes, Ride at least a couple times a week. A buddy or a few buddies always plan a Friday ride. We plan to take the Natchez Trace tomorrow and visit one of our favorite eating joints. It will wind up being about 200 or more miles.

rode a dinner ride last week & over to bike nite last nite hoping for a few more before snow flies

We have a place in Mt Juliet Tennessee. Took the Trace south from Nashville for about 100 miles. Beautiful! Rick

A buddy and I are planning doing the whole trace starting Tuesday next week. We'll be camping along the Trace. We figure three days taking the interstate and higher speed limit roads back.

I took the Natchez Trace solo last year getting on beginning just south of Nashville all the way down to Natchez, MS. I had just left a small Goldwing gathering in Dayton, TN and that's where I got to finally meet up with @Marc H for the first time. I did it in 2 days of easy riding and stopped in Tupelo MS for the night. I had gotten a late start so Tupelo was a good place to stop. The Parkway was closed in one section for a few miles but the rest was open.

The road was nice and seemed to be well maintained. Nothing very technical but was very relaxing and peaceful. It was pretty cool though as you went through the various towns, you had no idea because the woodlands on either side of road were thick enough that you couldn't see anything. Almost no other cars along the way. A lot of folks riding bicycles on the northern sections though. You could tell as you got further south because the scenery changed and there was some swampland close to the road.

I was warned to watch my speeds because the park rangers like to aggressively enforce the speed limits just like the Blue Ridge. However, in the 2 days, I only saw 1 and that was at one of the gas statios off the Parkway I stopped to fuel up.

Overall it was pretty cool but it's now a BTDT and not sure I would do it again.

My Wife and I took an afternoon ride Saturday before last north into Kentucky and made a big loop in the Cumberland Falls area.
Last Saturday we rode through the gorge in the Big South Fork and made a loop around the park for a few hours of Riding.
Here in East Tennessee almost every road is great for Riding. I'm kicking myself for not getting a trike sooner.
Been riding it Everyday to work unless it's raining when we leave for work.
