Anyone still riding?

Riding in the NYC suburbs is risky. We use our trike for long haul vacation travels. Took our trike out yesterday to give it exercise and to enjoy the fall foliage. Trike is back under the covers with battery tender attached. Have lots of travel plans for 2014. We are heading west!!

Hey Leo, I headed west once... Trenton and Camden were lovely! :D  ThumbUp

Was 47* when we left house at 9ish, went towards cape cod, got back home around 3ish, was in the 60ish then. felted good for sure. No snow, ice I'll be out riding, got to make up for lack of riding this summer cause of heart issues. Give me a decent week or so I'll go to bike week in Daytona.

Jonesy - great to hear you're "up and about" after that summer ordeal. Except for last week when I managed to catch a "super cold", we've been riding regularly to work each day (80 mi rd trip) and squeezing in some weekend "shorties" as well. Dec theu Feb will slow us down, but we keep "trying". ThumbUp

Hi Warren, Know what you mean. Been through Trenton with my wife on our trike. Traveled nearly every state east of and including states Minnesota thru Arkansas. Looking to ride the Rocky Mountains this year.

Nice 72 here in Central Texas. Can pretty much ride year round!

Yep...ditto!
We're out almost every weekend of the year in west Texas.
We'd be out during the week too but SOMEBODY still has to work.
However...very thankful for the job.

Headed out to the Big Bend area of Texas with a group on Thurs for a long weekend. First long trip for the Stallion. Thinking about trailering after reading some of these posts. Just recently starting seeing a few coolant drips, so will checking that out.

I tried riding the Stallion in Colorado and couldn't get around like when I had my Goldwing trike. Solution . . . spend 6 months in Florida during the winter. No problem now!!

I ride year round here in south central PA. Gotta say, rain or shine, sleet or snow, me and my trike are on the go!

Accessorize your trike for personal comfort and always wear appropriate gear, so you can stay comfortable in any type of weather. Before you gear up, mount up and start up, to begin your ride, remind yourself what the weather and road conditions are, and drive accordingly.

My time tested adage concerning road safety with any vehicle, but especially a trike / bike: "Expect the unexpected and you will never be disappointed"

I loaded the trike in the cargo trailer this afternoon, it's snowing and the temperature is at 30F.

Monday morning we're out the door early and will be in Maricopa, AZ about noon on Wednesday. Six months of riding in the winter sunshine. :AllGood::AllGood:

Got the Stallion out today and went for a good ride. The temp was around 60 and with a light jacket thing were great. Looks like the weather is going to start changing the next week or so around here so this might be my last good day for riding:Depressed: at least for a little while. I'm still hope to win the lottery and move to the beach and ride all year round.

We ride year round here in Las Vegas. Just returned from a ride down to Cabo San Lucas and it was beautiful, then followed that with a ride to Rocky Point Mx.
Am now planning my next trip to Alaska but will wait till next June for that.

rode mine today in North Dakota, but may not for a while after today as it's forecast for snow the next three days and then daily high temps below zero by Thursday. Now I just need to pull the back wheels and get the new tires mounted so it's ready for February in AZ for our winter getaway. Also had the old ford galaxie convertible out for a cruise this afternoon which was probably the last outing for that this fall.

Mid 60's here today with an overcast. Joined up with a couple of other trikers and headed west then south on backroads before heading home a while ago. Stopped midpoint at a way too expensive BBQ place. Brisket was OK, but their sauce was terrible.

It was in the mid 60's here today. So wife and I took a 3 hours ride over to the beach front. Last several days the winds have been up quite a bit and the beach road sure showed it. Beach sand was 6-8" deep in most places and getting worse. We decided to turn around before it got any worse than that.

All in all it was a beautiful sunny day for a nice relaxed ride. pepper

Yup-and still going!! A few of us are going to brave the cold (about 76 ) to ride up A1A from Daytona to St Augustine tomorrow to check out a National Monument about 10 miles south of St Augustine. Probably need a jacket to ride with this cold Florida weather !! hahaha Want to check it out prior to our Snowbird Get Together in Jan. It may be something to stop and see on our day trip to St Augustine.

Normally I think you guys down in the southeast have better riding this time of year but the last week or two makes me rethink that. Hope by now everyone has had a chance to get out a little and get some riding in. I still haven't been out but maybe next week...........<img src="images/smilies/smileygarden_de_banana7.gif" border="0" alt="" title="pepper" class="inlineimg" />

I did get two weeks ago and rode about 120 miles with some friends, but that was last week. Saturday I got the trike out and at least rode around town. Today is a different story.. we are having thunderstorms with sleet and rain and have about 1/2" of ice on the road. WHEN IS SPRING GOING TO GET HERE?

Our CMA chapter had our "Day of Prayer" ride yesterday. It turned out to be a great day. Good friends, lots of prayer, a little sunshine and 77. Thank you God for giving us a great day!!!
