I'm in the process of lineing my ducks up to purchase a Tri Glide from HD. I found a site that is supposed to give you the dealer invoice price as well as the cost and retail on several options for a small fee. It seems that there is a $6000 difference between the list price for a black Tri Glide and the dealer invoice. I have no prior experence buying a Bike/trike but that seems to be a hefty profit. I haven't read of anyone that has paid less than the middle 30's for a tri glide including tax and lic. I don't think most HD dealers are "dealing" very much. I had one guy offer to drop the shipping and assembly, but everything else was MSRP. Anybody know of a good dealer in the San Francisco bay area including Sacramento that will be willing to work with me? Thanks......Alan

Motorcycle business is not a high volumn sales like cars are. Dealers need to make a reasonable profit on sales to stay in business. Sorry can not help you on the dealer though.

There are tales of some dealers that are selling below MSRP due to the economy and its true on some models, but the TGs are not on that list. If you want to buy a run of the line Big Twin, there a lot of deals to be made. The top of the line Sporties and the TGs are in demand and there are not many sitting around in stock, so there's very little - if any - "dealing".
The only good news is that its not hard to find a dealer that's selling at MSRP on those models.
Good luck,

When I tried to buy a Tri-Glide three weeks ago. The dealer was real stiff, price wise. He wanted full retail plus $600 freight. I laughed to my self, and walked out. Went to the Honda Dealer and received over $7,500 off a fully loaded trike. It was for an 08 Wing, and a 2010 would have been another $4,000. Still a large discount. My dealer was offering $1000.00 below MSRP on a Tri Glide however that only applied to a purchase with no trade in. Several years ago, before Harley stepped up production and offered so many different models, it was common to pay quite a bit over MSRP in this area. There were very few new bikes on the floors and you had to wait months for delivery if you ordered one. I guess the good news is there are a lot of late model, low mileage used bikes on the floor (two wheelers) selling for reasonable prices because the dealers are offering very little on trade-ins.

I can vouch for the trade in prices. Dealer said wholesale minus $1500. That on top of full retail plus freight? I can see why that trike has been on the floor for over 5 weeks now. Tom

When he gets hungry he will come down. The right person at the right time. The Honda is a great ride, I just could not afford one.
