I didn't want to hijack 14TG's thread on the 9 degree rake kit that he got from Papa Zook, so I'm starting my own thread. I too bought one from Papa Zook. It is being delivered today. I have my trike pretty much apart as shown in the picture. So far, it wasn't difficult. I'm a little leary about removing the fork tube caps and installing the ones that come with the kit as I don't have a vice to hold the tubes. I am going to try to use the triple tree as a vice. I have done that quite a few times before with other bikes. The only thing that I have left to do before the install is remove the forks, handlebars and triple tree. I won't be able to get back to it until Monday as my wife and I are about to head out for a long weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

Lookin good you'll get er done. The tube caps are the hardest part. Take your time and be careful. Enjoy your weekend.

I think using the bike as a vice is a good option. I didn’t think of that when I did mine , I used a little black n decker vice sawhorse. Patience is the best tool though.

Looking great!!!
I wish I can assist since I usually do all my own work… but I had my Indy do mine for me when we went on vaca (he had it done in a day since he’s done many of these kits) … plus we exchange favors back and forth too.

But I think your idea is great and should work great for you!

Again, I can’t say enough how much you will love the results!
Keep us posted!

i HAVE HAD ONE FOR YEARS AND THEY ARE TOP SHELF. DIG DENNY

I have the rake kit installed. Was a little easier than I thought it would be. I was able to use the triple trees to hold the fork tubes in place to install the new billet fork plug extensions, which come with the rake kit. I have to put on the wheel and the fender and the inner and outer fairing. Before I completely button it up, I will try to chase down an electrical problem with my heated grips that started after I changed the bars last year. They don't get as warm as they should. Either a crossed wire or a bad connection I'm guessing.

Finished the install this morning. Never did get the heated grips to work, but I wouldn't use them anyway. I have to do the hardest part of the job now and that is getting the seat screw back in. I think that I'll just make a longer one. Probably can't take it for a ride today, hopefully tomorrow.

Well, I just got back from riding my trike. No shortage of twisties around here and I rode the twistiest. The rake kit is everything the people that have them say it is. Steering was much easier. Even pushing it around in my garage was easier. I should have done this when I bought the trike two years ago. My thanks to 14TG for making up my mind for me and to Papa Zook for his help during the purchase and for his pointers on the installation.

Another thing that made my day. I was pulling out of my neighborhood and my hands got really hot. My heated grips were working. I guess the trike has to be running.

If you don’t have the rake kit, get it.

You’re quite welcome and this rake kit is indeed a HUGE game changer!!!

HDMOCO definitely fell way short on this!!!
(Every time I get on it, it is so much more pleasurable to ride)!

More smiles per miles!
Enjoy & ride safe!

I don’t know what’s up with the heated grips. My 2020 Ultra don’t feel like they are working half the time either, then next thing I know they are so hot you can’t hold on to them.

My Victory Vision with heated grips AND seat were the same way! Felt like my a$$ was on fire when it kicked on, then took forever to cool back down!
