Infotainment system blackout?

OK, so I've had my '14 TriGlide for about four months now, and I have noticed someting over the past few weeks. if I park the bike outside for the day (~10-12 hours) on a sunny day (I live in Florida, sun shines a lot!), when I start the bike, the screen on the system stays black. The radio still works fine, and the handlebar controls still work (volume, station, etc.), but you can't see anything on the display. Eventually it comes back, but it takes longer each time. Today it was about 5 minutes in blackout.

Anyone else experienced anything like this? The warranty will cover a replacement, but I hate the thoughts of scheduling with the dealer for a service appointment for a warranty claim, and possibly having to wait for my ride to be fixed!!!

I had that happen on a Can-Am if I parked it in direct sun light the screen would go black, No lasting damage.. You might want to put some kind of shade/cover on the screen...

I'd get it on record with the dealer, my 06 did the same thing when it was a little over a year old. The display would be out for a spell, then come back. A few months later it went out and wouldn't come back, everything worked fine, just had no display.

I've had mine freeze up on me while riding. The first time everything froze - audio video everything. Second time everything froze except the audio.
The first time the dealer said it was a bad cell in the battery = replaced battery. Second time everything came back on after turning the bike off for about 5 minutes. So far (3 months later) it seems to be working OK.

I do notice on the GPS it will stay in the night mode (dark screen) even in bright sunlight once in a while for no reason.

I suggest going to display settings and turning off the automatic brightness control and manually chose a setting you like. If you have no more problems you know the problem is with auto control.

I'll have to try the display settings. I thought about that, since it seems to be light related. I also plan on getting it on record with the dealer.

Thanks,
