I found a 2007 Lehman Jackal with 20K miles on it for $10K. It has a lot of addons like driving lights, trunk with rack, engine, guards windshield, steering stablizer extra lights in rear bumper nice seat with backrest for driver and passenger. What do you all think? Is this a good buy and are the Suzuki trikes good?

Thanks Butch

Sounds like a very good deal as long as everything works as it should.

Suzuki C 50 are very good 2 wheeler. It's ok for a 1 up round town trike. Not good for 2 or highway travel. I sold my C50 for my VTX1300 trike. C50 needs a 6th gear for the highway VTX1300 does not. Drove the C50 for 3 years.

Pretty much in agreement with Gorilla and cavie...........Good price with all the bells 'n whistles as long as it's in good condition. ThumbUp

Best for a solo rider as cavie pointed out and a 6th gear would be nice, but not critical.

I don't do much highway riding with the trike, but have done plenty of 100 mile plus runs on good secondary roads at speeds of 55 mph - 65 mph with no problem.

The VS800 Intruder has been known to develop clutch slippage as early as 10K miles and I've read that the C50 may have similar problems as well, but if the trike is solid, please don't let the possible clutch issue deter you. Just a matter of the factory stock clutch springs being weak and the fix is easily managed by installing aftermarket heavy duty clutch springs from either Barnetts, Vesrah or even EBC.

Good luck and here's hoping it all works out...........ThumbUp

The Jackal is the c90 Suzuki.

This is the c90 1700 cc..

IF you look on craigslist in ALBANY NY theres a Honda VTX 1300 With a champion kit on it , it has a windshield, a passenger back rest some other add ad on's he's asking $ 11000, I think you can buy it for less ??

I was just going to post I thought the Jackal was the C90 but I see that's mentioned. It has the bigger engine. I have the C50 Tramp.

Everyone I talk to says the Suzuki's are so dependable. I haven't ridden mine that much, just around town....still waiting on the ramp to be built, and not wanting to drag mine with the current ramp getting in and out. But I have to say I'm sooooo in love with mine. It's just the right size for me and I'll only be riding one up and not long distance but I'm sure if I wanted to it would handle it. I think it's an individual's preference and how they will be using it. For me a smaller trike is the perfect size to start with. I can always move up. Or stay where I'm at.

Have fun on the trike! I'd never go back to 2 wheels, I'm hooked!

My oops as well. Didn't realize that the Jackal was the C90. Haven't heard of any clutch issues with that one. Power to weight ratio might be dicey, but can't say for sure. Overall, still sounds like a pretty good deal.

And you're spot on, Jolie.........your C50 will do the long haul with ease if you ever decide to make any longer runs. ThumbUp

Guys and gals...we have a member here named Calman who stopped in for a visit at my shop a few years back on his Honda Shadow 750 Motortrike. He had it loaded to the brim and was about half way through the process of doing a 4 corners ride and reported that his 750 was doing a more than adequate job of getting him all over this big ole US of A. The Suzuki C50 is 800cc, fuel injected and runs circles around the carb'd 750s. We are just so used to bigger and more that we underestimate the capability of smaller bikes and trikes.

It sounds like a good deal to me, badbuck. My Road Star/Champion is comparable and I gave right around 12k for it. 1700 is plenty of motor for even 2 up riding.

I have had a 2007 Jackal for a little over 1 full riding season (8000 miles)with absolutely no problems. I run with other trikes (Harleys) and can't tell any difference. A 1st class trike in my opinion.

Amen! I really liked riding the c50 tramp belonging to my friends wife.
Had plenty of snort.

Did a quick search on the C90..........1500cc's, good hp and very decent torque. It'd probably serve you well if you get this one.

Good luck no matter what you decide on, the important thing is to be Free on Three ThumbUp

i found a trike

bazooka is right I have a 750 shadow and it will do most of what I want but doing two up will slow it down a bit the 750 is not a power house any way . But it does very well most of the time ,around town it is great and most of the time ok on the road. out on the interstate two up is a little slow. so I stick to two lane back roads most of the time mine will do at least 85 mph with one rider best I could do with two was about 78mph. But me and my wife have lost about 50 lbs between us so it might do a little bit better now. I guess that's why they call them cruisers . sounds like a great deal to me go for it .that's cheap for around here . That's why I bought the Trigg I ran out of money. 75 to 80 is buzzy on the shadow any way.:D good luck

We bought a 750 Honda aero with a motor trike kit for my wife 3 years ago and she could do 70 mph all day long. Now she has a vtx1300.
