:Coffee: It's darn cold here in Casper, Wyoming today but it finally stopped storming so i just had to take a ride.

pepper I just loved hating it!

:Trike1: I sure wish i had a trike to build for someone else this winter, I could use something to do occupy these long winter months.

I hate sitting in this house! :p:kpzxvq:

 Yes i could find something to do but i just can't get intrested .
I guess cabin fever hasnt completly kicked in yet?

ThumbUp When i was building my trike last winter i had something to do that i loved and something to look forward to.

I would like to take down my old 80" and fix a leaking seal under my rear cylinder head, I might as well rebuild while im at it.
ThumbUp My engine is still running strong at 91,000 miles but it would be nice to do more than fixing a seal.
:Crap: I don't have the extra cash laying around to do the rebuild right now.

 I would like to work out a trade with someone. Unlike our govt. i could work out some mutually benificial arrangement.

I, also, had a weeping cylinder, and rebuilt my Evo in 2004, and I really enjoyed doing it. Since I had the top end apart, I did a valve job, honed the cylinders and bumped the compression, and changed out the Andrews EV46 cam to an EV13.

That being said, gaskets are relatively inexpensive, so you can really do the rebuild on a budget if you don't go changing parts. I suggest you add Haden's "The Oil Fix" to prevent any further cylinder base leaks. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks rick, I will keep this message for reference.
At 40,00 miles i did put in a little hotter cam.
My original cam looked perfect when i took it out. I am old school enough that that i didn't really believe at the time that evo was so bullet proof. Im glad to find out i was mistaken.
It has 30 years since i rebuilt an engine, i guess i'm a might unsure of myself at this point. Irrational fear?

I wouldn't call it irrational fear, maybe healthy respect for the task??

2004 was the second time I was into that engine. Both times had me un-nerved, but I was really satisfied with the results, and that satisfaction is what keeps me doing my own work. I've basically rebuilt that '87 FLST over the years, and even if she is a hoary old bitch, I wouldn't trade her for anything.

oh i expect i will do the rebuild myself, I have the motor manual for reference.
Just got to rake up the dinero, you know?
