Howdy from God's Country, SW ND (about 3 hrs north Rapid City, so we go down and ride the Black Hills fairly often). I've been riding since 1978. Owned a 2008 Heritage Softail the last 12 years. Decided to sell it as my wife can't comfortably do miles on 2 wheels anymore, and bought a beautiful 2017 Tri Glide Ultra with only 4500 miles on it. The owner bought it new in 2017 and gradually quit riding it as his arthritis got worse.

He didn't bother to learn the bike, he just rode it. The only things he knew how to operate were the ignition, parking brake, and radio. He didn't know the shocks were air adjustable (they had 0 air pressure, I put 50PSI in), never used the cruise control, and had no idea what the security system PIN was. What he did do was keep it in immaculate condition, it looked like it just came off the showroom floor.

I've never been on a trike before, have put about 500 miles on in the last couple weeks. I've found it's a whole 'nother animal, particularly on the curves. I've read and seen conflicting advice on how to handle curves and I'm still figuring that aspect out. So I'm here to learn as much as I can about how to ride, feed, and care for my Glide...

Welcome Jon to TrikeTalk! This is without a doubt the best forum for everything Trike.

Handling curves will come with time. It takes some getting used to as you no longer lean or counter steer but rather turn the handlebars the direction you want to go. What helps me a lot especially in the Twisties is to push the opposite arm forward almost to locking it and pull a little with other side. So to go left, push with right arm all the way forward.

Going right, push forward with left arm. Also I like to "straighten out the curves a bit. When approaching a left curve, I go all the way to the right side of the lane, then drift left while going through the curve. As I hit the apex, I want to be on the left side of lane and then start drifting back right so when coming out of the curve, I'm back to the right side of the lane again. With practice, you will sail right through the curves and feel more comfortable. I hope this helps.

Welcome !! There is a ton of information on here.
I've had my first trike for a month now and the best things I have done to improve the ride is Krome works 2+2 narrows and 13 Nexgen shocks with lift. These two changes tame the beast and allow me and the wife to enjoy the ride in comfort!
