I have a 2005 GL1800 with a 2006 Roadsmith trike kit installed. My left side rear brake light is out. I looked in the operators manual but don't see how to get to the bulb to change it. Just hoping it doesn't involve laying on the floor under the trike. Please help!

Thx, Jacque

I don't have a Roadsmith. However, if it is like others I've seen, jack up and remove the rear wheel on the side the bulb is out and look in towards the rear of wheel well. You should see the mounting nuts holding the rear lamp on. Remove the nuts and the lamp pulls out of the rear of the body allowing access to the bulb sockets.

I've often wondered myself never having to change a bulb yet.

What I can tell you (from my observation after removing my rear wheels when I first brought my trike home to further 'dress-up' the wiring underneath) is that you definitely do have to get under the trike. The screws for the tail-light assembly are on the inside of the rear fender. Removing the wheel will make the job much easier regarding access. Hope this helps. ;)

As an after thought,,,. You might want to investigate using an LED replacement rather than a bulb. (I'm also going to consider this when the time comes) The LED's supposedly last much longer so you won't have to go through the replacement process as often or maybe not ever again. ThumbUp

Call Roadsmith and ask them, then post it here. They are very helpful at the factory.

Thanks, I was really hoping that it didn't involve getting under the trike LOL
I have a bad back and one bum leg but I will find a way. I never considered LED's but will look into it, sounds like it would be worth the time and trouble.
