How often do you clean yours?

I am still old school. Turtle Wax for me. Although it's liquid and NOT the paste variety.

I do use Meguiars from time to time though. Looking into an orbital buffer myself.

hbrogan,
I clean our TG after everytime we take it out. I like to stay on top of the bugs so they are not as hard to remove them. Currently I am using Wizards Mist-N-Shine, which works great. Also I like to use Zephyre Spo-dee-o-dee spray. I think that works a little better than the Wizards. We also have a black trike and I'm ALWAYS on the quest for a wax/polish for the color black!! This past summer I bought a 6" random orbital buffer and that does a nice job. Also I'm trying a Turtle "Synthetic" Wax....haven't used it that much to get an opinion about it yet. What kinda wax do you use for your black Honda Trike??

I don't know what is meant by "deep cleaning". I use a micro towel and the "armor all" detail and wax spray. I do it when it gets too dusty or after rain when it gets raid drop spots with dust on it. Us it on all the chrome, including wheels, and the windshield. that is the full extent of my cleaning. Oh yeah, about three times a year I use a leather cleaner on the seat, etc. It most always looks bright, shiny, and catches the eye of everyone. Good enough for me.

I clean mine after every ride. I use a spray bottle of water and a towel after the bike has cooled down when out on the road. When I get back from a long ride I take my time and do a good cleaning/waxing whick includes the engine and at least once a year I clean good underneith, mainly to help check for leaks or any problems. I keep my ride clean but I have two other guys I ride with that every time they get off their bike they have their rags out cleaning. I do like a clean bike!

the next owner can polish it, I'm gonna ride it.ThumbUp
I just wipe it down with a micro fiber towel and lemon pledge when the bugs get too thick on the windshield and it gets a soap and water bath maybe twice a year.
I live a mile down a gravel road and have no intentions of trying to keep it all polished up and unless you count the pledge, wax has never seen it.

Ah, a Man after my own heart.....ThumbUp:10:

I also wipe my trike clean with a microfiber cloth, but I only use water. Does the pledge ever build up and become sticky? Also, I have a friend that takes her trike to the car wash, is this a recommended way to clean your trike?

Sweetie gets a thorough wash and wax in the spring and another in the fall wipe her down with HD wash & wax cleaner in between. :Coffee: Winter time if its warm enough to clean its warm enough to ride so I ride. Right now both the tri glide & the Victory are dirty as h--- and will probably stay that way till spring. No heat in the shed

I have never noticed any build up from the pledge and I use it on the whole trike including the windshield.
as for the car wash:Shrug: I wouldn't like that much water pressure.

I use the car wash from time to time. But I don't use the trigger for the high pressure except to indirectly hit the trike. Never direct on the motor or electronic components. Wheels and tires can take it though.

I wash mine after every ride, and every time it rains, I sit in my garage and give her a total wax job.....MY bike will never see the light of day unless "she's clean" :):)

I usually clean, detail, wax after each ride. Hate to leave it dirty.

Often, since I know I'll be doing it again after my next ride, I use Meguires Cleaner Wax or detailer as it don't have to last but so long. Sometimes, I use Liquid Glass just because it's easy to put on / take off or buff, it lasts and lasts but it ain't cheap (but I ran up on a good case price a couple years ago, so I have 17 or 18 pints on hand now).

The front wheel I polish as needed as it's not CCed. The rears get same wax, etc as bike as they are coated.

I had neglected to do it last couple years as I didn't ride either, but I got it done a couple weeks ago.

The ceramic coating isn’t enough to take care of the bugs? I thought after this stuff was applied it only took a good water rinse-off to take care of any/all grime...??

I'm at my 2 year anniversary & I have not washed it (soap & water).

The HD spray can polish the dealer gave me works well, but Lucas Speed Wax is my favorite because it is fast & easy.

I also have Original Bike Spirits Spray Cleaner & Polish, which is close to the HD spray polish.

I plan on washing it this fall after my trip to Durango, CO.

6 years old and never been washed. Rains a lot down here and I get in it ALOT. Wipe it down while wet with clean towels.

That seems to do it except for the front wheel.

That I have cleaned.............well maybe I have cant remember the last time.

I'm always washing and waxing my bike....I will not be seen with my trike, unless it's clean and waxed up...

Everytime it rains I sit in my garage and wax away!!!

I probably have 8-10 coats of wax on her by now .....I put my headphones on/and rock out to my favorite group (led Zeppelin) This is my way of relaxing :p..... I hate to be bothered, and interrupted while waxing, so I shut the garage door, [and pretend I'm not home] while I'm waxing, I always have friends that just drop by and that totally kills the mood!:blush: OR I wash it and ride down the street to a park very near me, and I have my favorite shade tree that I park under, and wax here there.....:D:D

Life is Good!!

Well. 390 miles on the new 19 and got caught in the rain. I'm in farm country so by the time I was done riding. It needed soap and water. Just using spray cleaner would have prematurely put the dreaded swirls in the vivid black paint. I remember why I hate vivid black. Lol. My Roadglide was Black quartz. didnt show the dirt as bad. I'll soap and water it when it needs it. Other than that I clean it with the Harley spray cleaner. Works good. I dont mind doing it all the time. I have a lift which makes it so much easier.
