how many miles a day

My wife and I like between 350 and 375 miles a day. We are on vacation and not trying to kill ourselves.

I will always plan 2 hours for every 100 miles. In an 8 hr day that is 400 miles. towards then end of the day I may not make that much. At 72 that is more then enough.

Words of wisdom from an old Western writer:

Too often I would hear men boast of the miles covered that day, rarely of what they had seen. Louis L'Amour

There's more truth to this saying then we realize..............Good/excellent/truthful...come back! :clapping::clapping::clapping:

I normally go about 400-500 a day, but don't feel the pressure to stick to any schedule, usually.

I have some strange quirks when I travel. I like to stop before dark, I always fill up at night & do my checks in the morning when the bike is cool.

I also ride for 45 min. to an hour or so, before breakfast.

Just got the trike in September, so no long trips yet. But on the Ultra Classic we were doing 650 miles if it was nice day 550 if the day sucked... It was our first day out going to Sturgis. We did it every time for 26 years... Nothing to See in Iowa or Minnesota. So we ran 75 to 80 all day...

Probably still do 550 on the trike... We dropped the extra 100 miles about 4 years ago. There wasnt anything around the second camp ground anyway. Gave us more time in Mitchel to eat and roam around... It was about a 10 to 11 hr day... We took our time. But the bike went the speed-limit plus :clapping: Afraid at that speed on the trike wed be stopping for gas all the time. I was getting about 33 mpg pulling my Bushtec two up

Hello Arie

milage per day, that a good ? Darlene and I have done 700 a time or 2 and 500 a number of times, but as I get older I really like 350 or so. it makes a easy day. on the road around 8:00 am ride 200 miles have lunch ride till 3 or 4 and look for motel. a day like that and you can stop and smell the roses a little. with that being said if we are in a hurry the only way to make time is to stay in the saddle longer.
